A Spanish band from Sevilla (Spain) with David García (drums), Javier Vega (bass) & Miguel Rivera (vocals, lyrics, keyboard and guitar)
They took the name of Maga from a character of Julio Cortázar's book "Rayuela".
Their 1st EP (Bidimensional) was one of the best EP's in Spain as said spanish music magazines as Muzikalia or Rockdelux. In 2002 they release Their first album Maga (The white one). In 2004, they record their second album Maga (the black one), and in 2006 the third, named Maga too (red) .
Psychodelic lyrics for a polite band.
Maga is also a solo project by Marc Fien, who started drumming when he was 6 and has played in a variety of bands and projects since. To name but a few: ‘Osiris’, ‘Hookah’, ‘Ominous Tribe’, ‘Rosenbaum Trio’, ‘Sand/Elephantum’ and ‘Tegenpolen (live band)’. With his love for stoner rock, funk, techno, drum & bass and many other styles he became a resident dj in ‘t Ukien (the place to be in Kampen city, the Netherlands) for 7 years. In this period his craze for digital expression took flight and the MAGA project was born.

Maga Lyrics

The lyrics to Maga's song Sal y Otras Historias depict two different characters in two different situations. The first character is a young boy who is allergic to salt and is watching his mother sunbathe while he looks out at the sea. The boy pictures himself as a fish and dives into the water in his imagination. The second character is an old man who is tired of living and takes pills to poison the air around him. On the last day of his life, he hears his own voice from his childhood and remembers who he used to be. He dives into his memories without holding his breath and finds peace in his past.
The song talks about the importance of childhood memories and the value of asking questions. The boy in the song is able to escape his allergy and the limitations of his body by imagining himself as a fish, while the old man finds solace in revisiting his childhood memories. The lyrics suggest that asking questions and exploring our past can help us find answers and meaning in our lives.
