Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Magma's song "Blum Tendiwa" are primarily in Kobaïan, a constructed language created by the band's founder and leader, Christian Vander. The song begins with the repetition of "Dowëh wëriwï ïost" and "Ämah rüst," which roughly translate to "the sun rises" and "we must go." The following lines are more abstract, but the repeated phrase "dowëri wï ïss dëh wëloï" can be interpreted as "we are at the threshold of the world."

The chorus is a call and response between the lead singer and backup vocalists, chanting "Zaïn tü Zaïn!" which means "be yourself." This refrain is meant to be empowering and encouraging.

The latter half of the song repeats similar phrases and incorporates more complex vocalizations, including high-pitched falsettos and guttural growls. The final line, "Döwatsïndöh siwili wöwöwö / Dowëri söhn dowï wëloï / Dowëh wëh loh wï sünd/ë / Döwatsïndöh!" is thought to mean "the world is full of crevices and holes / we must fill them / we go to the end!"

Overall, "Blum Tendiwa" is a passionate and intense song that showcases Magma's unique fusion of progressive rock, jazz fusion, and avant-garde styles.

une merveille avec un des plus grands batteurs ............

@basilejabnique1472

I miss Antoine's voice in nowadays Magma's music.

@baragdul5522

Entièrement d'accord. Aknin est affligeant.

@M.A.Cornell

Agree! But it's not so much the voice as the spirit and energy. Hervé's tone is rich and he's possibly a technically better singer, but he lacks Antoine's all-in spirit. He's a classical singer, while Antoine was a blues singer. I prefer Antoine.

@@M.A.Cornell Herve sounds like Kermit the Frog

@ThoughtThinkerTomas

This and theusz hamtaahk are the best sounding things I have ever heard in my life.

@sinajakelic

I feel that way about Zess and MDK, also Ommadawn and Amarok by Mike Oldfield.

@jljl84

un des plus grands batteurs au monde, doublé d'un extraordinaire compositeur !

@kurganseth4799

@TheFripp666

Qu'importe si tu ne découvres que maintenant cette plage de Magma, l'essentiel c'est que tu l'aimes et tu peux sourire en l'écoutant et en pensant à ceux qui ne connaissent pas encore ^^
