Magnum P.I. Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Hell out of here real soon
Before I get stranded
With all of my loved ones
Sittin' round me
Don't wanna get myself stuck with
Everyone that makes me happy
I'm just hoping that this will someday work out
Hope you like what i've got
Cause I don't know if I do
Listen in, I don't know how else to put this but i've
Got a lot of sins
Trying to relieve myself through song and song
Just tellin you everything I did wrong
The lyrics of Magnum P.I.'s song Opening convey a sense of restlessness and uncertainty. The singer is considering leaving a situation, perhaps a gathering or a place, before they become too attached to the people they are with. They express a fear of being stuck with loved ones, even though they make them happy. The singer is hopeful that things will work out in the future, but they don't want to wait too long. The final lines suggest that the song is a confessional of sorts, as the singer admits to having a lot of sins and using music as a way to cope.
Overall, the lyrics express a mix of conflicting emotions. There is a desire for connection and happiness, but also a fear of being tied down or trapped. The mention of sins and the need for release through music suggests a deeper, more complex emotional state beneath the surface.

the part where he is driving the Ferrari from the grass to road, is ICONIC!

My friend and I were in his uncle's BMW. We were talking about that scene. We drove up to a boulevard. And he did the same thing (more mud less grass). It was hilarious.
@TheJimmymunce
The reason that scene exists was they could not get the Ferrari to spin its wheels on the road surface. So they thought that if they dropped the clutch on the dirt then pavement then fishtailed the wheels would continue to spin when it hit the road. Sadly it was not as fast as it looked.
