And I'm warning ya
It's a victorious
Happy and glorious new strain!
I feel a song comin' on
It's a melody!
Full of the laughter
Of children out after the rain!
Ringin' thru ya!
Love and glory!
Hallelujah!
And now that my troubles are gone
Let those heavenly drums go on drummin'
Cause I feel a song comin' on!
I feel a song comin' on
And I'm warning ya
It's a victorious
Happy and glorious new strain!
I feel a song comin' on
It's a melody!
Full of the laughter
Of children out after the rain!
You'll hear a tuneful story
Ringin' thru ya!
Love and glory!
Hallelujah!
And now that my troubles are gone
Let those heavenly drums go on drummin'
Mahlon's song "Feel" is an upbeat and joyful declaration of the arrival of inspiration. The opening lines, "I feel a song comin' on, and I'm warning ya," set an anticipatory tone for what's to come. The singer is warning the listener that they're about to break out into a new, victorious, and happy melody that will evoke the laughter of children playing outside after the rain.
Mahlon's use of "a tuneful story ringin' thru ya" creates an image of the song being a vehicle for storytelling, one that will lead to “love and glory” and elicit a “Hallelujah!” from the listener. By the second verse, it's clear that the singer has left the worries and troubles of life behind and is fully immersed in the feeling of inspiration. Even the drums in the song sound heavenly to them since the rush of creativity has overwhelmed them.
The overall message of the song seems to be that when inspiration strikes, it's not just a private feeling for the writer or artist, but something that can impact others and create a positive ripple effect. The song encourages everyone to open themselves up to the creative process and feel the joy that comes from it.
