1) A Wu-Tang Clan affiliated R&B group consisting of producer C12 (real name Carlos Bess, who has produced for Ghostface Killah and Shabazz the Disciple) and his wife Madam Majestic who has made appearances on various Wu-Tang Clan projects. They released their debut album For Majic Eyes Only in 2006.
2) Czech electronic music duo composed of Tomáš Glasberger and Martin Bártl from Kladno, dating back to 1991. The name "Majestic 12" was chosen in 1995.
3) Majestic formed in Southern California in 1995 as Majestic 12. As Majestic 12, they released their upbeat pop on a series of mini-albums. When singer Jana Wittren left the band in 1997, the remaining members regrouped and renamed themselves Majestic. While some of the band's recordings feature up to a dozen members, the primary band features Scott Schultz on vocals, Aaron Watene on drums, Steve Berrett on bass, Jarond Gibbs on guitar, Aamon Watene on guitar, and Ron Berrett and Steve Berrett on piano and Wurlitzer. Their debut full-length as Majestic, Live It Up!, was released on Shelflife Records in 1998 and was re-released with bonus tracks in 1999 on Japan's Tone Vendor Records and Apartment Records. The album received critical acclaim for its unfettered variety of organ-based indie pop. Majestic enjoyed an enthusiastic response to their performance at the 1999 San Francisco Pop Festival and went on to enlarge their fan base, largely by word of mouth. Peter Quinnel joined the band on drums and Ruth Schultz and Sarah Windes joined on vocals for the next album. Wake Up, Come Out and Play was released in late 2001 on Shelflife, with another special edition released in Japan, this time on Wah! and P-Vine Records. The band has also appeared on various compilations. ~ Stephen Cramer, Rovi

The Journey
Majestic 12 Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
And I'm not the one to start the fight
You won't catch me staying out all night
Be back before the due hits and the day is light
I've been around the way, you for a while
For quite some time, you should know me by now
Seems that lately you've been trying to make me
I've never been the jealous type
And I'm not the one to start the fight
You won't catch me staying out all night
Be back before the due hits and the day is light
I wonder about you...
Cuz you've got style about you
But you have got to chill
Oooh, baby, because I want to still
Be with you...
I've never been the jealous type
And I'm not the one to start the fight
You won't catch me staying out all night
Be back before the due hits and the day is light
They, power, for hours and hours
We both can't be selfish, cuz this here, is our world
They, power, for hours and hours
We both can't be selfish, cuz this here, is our world
I've never been the jealous type
And I'm not the one to start the fight
You won't catch me staying out all night
Be back before the due hits and the day is light
I've never been the jealous type
And I'm not the one to start the fight
You won't catch me staying out all night
Be back before the due hits and the day is light
The song "The Journey" by Majestic 12 seems to be about a relationship that is experiencing some tension. The singer establishes in the first verse that they are not the "jealous type" and they don't like to fight, but they are feeling a little unsure about their partner's recent behavior. The chorus repeats this sentiment, with the singer stating that they have never been the type to stay out all night and they just want their partner to come back before the day is over.
In the second verse, the singer mentions that they've been with their partner for "quite some time" and they are experiencing some confusion about the recent changes they've noticed. They question whether they need to start "explaining" themselves more often. The bridge seems to indicate that the singer is still attracted to their partner and wants to be with them, but they are noticing a lack of "chill" in their behavior.
The final verse repeats the chorus again, but adds a new element with the line "they, power, for hours and hours." This could be interpreted as meaning that the conflict between the singer and their partner has been going on for a long time and is causing a struggle for power in the relationship. The closing line of the song seems to be a reminder to the partner that they need to be cognizant of the fact that they share this world with their partner and that they can't just act selfishly without consequences.
