The Journey
Major Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

I've met the devil and shook his hand
Did what I had to just to regain command
The rise, the fall but I will never crawl while dealing with the weight of a thousand mistakes
Have you ever felt a loop that only plays inside your head?
Convinced you have it figured out but scared of what comes next
I've seen too much
My mind can't face itself and what it hides
Woah at the edge of my mind
Woah wonder what I will find
The outline dissolves
The color fades away
The borders you live by have no shades of grey

If you look into the mirror you'll find out it isn't you
No way out when your consciousness has nothing left to lose
Trapped in this endless cycle, feeling endless motion
Never question karma, caught in my emotions
Right?

Woah at the edge of my mind
Woah wonder what I will find

I've met the devil and shook his hand
Did what I had to just to regain command
The rise, the fall but I will never crawl while dealing with the weight of a thousand mistakes
Have you ever felt a loop that only plays inside your head
Convinced you have it figured out but scared of what comes next
I've seen too much
My mind can't face itself and what it hides

Woah at the edge of my mind
Woah wonder what I will find
The outline dissolves
The color fades away
The borders you live by have no shades of grey

Overall Meaning

The song "The Journey" by Major is an introspective piece about the internal struggles of the artist. The lyrics are heavy and loaded with imagery about confronting one's demons, feeling trapped within one's thoughts, and struggling with the consequences of past mistakes. Major begins by stating that he has met the devil and shaken hands with him, indicating that he has faced his worst fears and done what he needed to do to regain control of his life. He follows this declaration with an admission that he has made a thousand mistakes, but despite this, he refuses to let himself be defeated. The chorus is haunting, repeating the phrase "Woah at the edge of my mind/Woah wonder what I will find," suggesting that the artist is on the brink of some kind of revelation about himself or his life.

The second verse is just as deep as the first, exploring the idea of being trapped in a cycle of negative thoughts, where one believes they have everything figured out but remains scared of what comes next. Major admits that he has "seen too much," indicating that he has perhaps lived through traumatic events or experiences that have left a lasting impact on his psyche. He then references the idea that what one sees of themselves in the mirror may not be a true reflection of who they are, as one's consciousness may be so disturbed that they have lost any sort of grip on their true identity. The song's bridge is perhaps the most poignant, with Major admitting that he is caught in his emotions and feels that he has no way out.

Overall, the song is a powerful exploration of the dark side of the human psyche, with Major's lyrics serving as a reminder that we are all capable of facing our fears, confronting our demons, and rising above our past mistakes. Through his raw and authentic delivery, Major guides the listener on a journey through the depths of his mind, showing us that even in our darkest moments, there is always hope for redemption and growth.

The Fool's Journey is such an incredible concept. I can see how you can apply it to real life. I may not believe in the tarot and fortune telling but, this is truly an inspirational story.

It's a story for all! After all. Our souls journey n it's evolution

@kidalienmonkthroughgod ehh it's a story of creation that much is true. The rest is a perspective, Atleast without some higher level of consciousness which I'm not currently in. I'm not talking about believing or feeling or faith, I'm talking about knowing. As the alchemist would have it, it's a process of fermentation. I know beer exists, I've drank it. But I've yet to taste spiritual enlightenment. But it's not just about enlightenment, it's the story of creation of everything in our lives. Building a business, a family, raising a child. Any and all forms of manifestation. Every lesson we learn in life, every journey we undertake follows this flow

I’m so grateful to have learned about the Fools Journey. I always knew about tarot, but learning to read Tarot and listening to this is a game changer. Learning Tarot changed my life. I always prayed and listened to my intuition but actually being in communication with Holy Spirit is unbelievable. I’m incredibly grateful, this was what I have always needed… not antidepressants 🌍❤️🧘‍♀️🦋❤️
