Fuck it

If I could paint you a picture of clouds and trees
I'd show you all of the finer things
I'd dry out your leaves, I'd paint the sky black and white
To prove we're not the same
Honesty people you'll never beat
Always a douchebag in front of me
I hate you for now
The problems of our past
I'll prove we're not the same

I heard things from a friend of a friend
I guess this is how it goes
Thought you're better now
The contracts end
I thought I should let you know
That I'm just the same as family's been
The American dream they fishing there
You gotta let it go
And let it mend

Four o' clock six just sleep up speak
Give me some space to let me breathe
I was too young back then to see
How you affected me
Everything you've come to know walks out on you

If I could paint you a picture of clouds and trees
I'd show you all of the finer things
I'd dry out your leaves, I'd paint the sky black and white
To prove we're not the same
Honesty people you'll never beat
Always a douchebag in front of me
I hate you for now
The problems of our past
I'll prove we're not the same

You came in and stole and you broke and you took
You ripped and you tore every page from my books
Shut down don't wanna believe until we choke
You stepped in you stepped out but where did you look?
I hated you when I was young
I hope your conscience leaves you sleepless
I pity you as time goes on
I'd like to think your world's in pieces

Four o' clock ticks just sleep up speak
Give me some space to let me breathe
I was too young back then to see
How you affected me
Everything you've come to know walks out on you
I hope someday you feel the pain you put me through

If I could paint you a picture of clouds and trees
I'd show you all of the finer things
I'd dry out your leaves, I'd paint the sky black and white
To prove we're not the same
Honesty people you'll never beat
Always a douchebag in front of me
I hate you for now
The problems of our past
I'll prove we're not the same

I hope someday you feel the pain
I hope someday you feel the pain
I hope someday you feel the pain
I hope someday you feel the pain
I hope someday

I heard some things from a friend of a friend
I guess this is how it goes
Thought you're better now
But I doubt you've grown
And when your son grows up
I hope he sees
The coward and the crook
And the world you took away from me

Just thought I'd let you know
That my father's twice the man
That you could ever be
And when your son grows up
I hope he sees
The coward and the crook

The house you shook
And the world you took away from me

Overall Meaning

The song Homewrecker by Major League reflects on the pain and bitterness of being betrayed by someone close to you. The lyrics seem to be addressing a former friend or lover who has caused a lot of damage and left a trail of destruction in their wake. The singer paints a picture of clouds and trees to represent the beauty and innocence of their relationship before it was torn apart. However, now the singer sees the world in black and white, like a painting that reflects the harsh reality of their situation.

The song expresses a deep feeling of hurt and longing for something that is no longer attainable. The singer resents the person who caused them so much pain and betrayal, and it's evident in the lyrics "I hope someday you feel the pain you put me through." They want their former love or friend to understand the gravity of their actions and feel the same hurt they've experienced. Ultimately, the song is about healing and letting go of a troublesome past, as reflected in the line, "You gotta let it go and let it mend."

If I could paint you a picture of clouds and trees
And show you all of the finer things
I'd dry out your leaves and paint the sky black and white
To prove we're not the same
I've seen people who've never peaked
I've seen dreams die in front of me
I hate you for now but you won't defy my past
I'll prove we're not the same

I heard today from a friend of a friend I guess this is how it goes
They said you're better now
Moved on transcend, so I thought I should let you know
That I'm just the same, this families bent
The American dream they visioned then
They had to let it go, and let it mend

So for Christ sake just leave us be
Give me some space and let me breathe
I was too young back then to see
How you affected me
I hope everything you've come to know walks out on you

If I could paint you a picture of clouds and trees
And show you all of the finer things
I'd dry out your leaves and paint the sky black and white
To prove we're not the same
I've seen people who've never peaked
I've seen dreams die in front of me
I hate you for now but you won't defy my past
I'll prove we're not the same

You came and you saw and you broke and you took
You ripped and you tore every page from our book
This house now a war, our foundation was shook
And the impression you left on how a family should look

I hated you when I was young
I hope your conscience leaves you sleepless
I pity you as time goes on
I'd like to think your worlds in pieces

For Christ sake just leave us be
Give me some space and let me breathe
I was too young back then to see
How you affected me
I hope everything you've come to know walks out on you
I hope someday you feel the pain you put me through

If I could paint you a picture of clouds and trees
And show you all of the finer things
I'd dry out your leaves and paint the sky black and white
To prove we're not the same
I've seen people who've never peaked
I've seen dreams die in front of me
I hate you for now but you won't defy my past
I'll prove we're not the same

I hope someday you feel the pain
I hope someday you feel the pain
I hope someday you feel the pain
I hope someday you feel the pain
I hope someday

I heard it today from a friend of a friend
I guess this is how it goes
He said you're better now
But I doubt you've grown
And when your son grows up I hope he sees
The coward and the crook

@OneCrayGuy89

Still a banger. I have no idea why the view count is so low. Great song! I miss this band.

@itsmemichael13

I can relate to this so much, especially after reading the lyrics. This whole song gives me chills.

@emobanana22

ugh. I wish they were playing at warped this summer. <3

@Shivi512

They are on the roster for Warped 2015! I'm pretty sure they're playing every venue, but I'd check the website to be sure that they're playing at your venue. Nick is out, but Bryan really does kill it on lead vocals. They'll probably be pushing their new album pretty hard this summer, but I'm sure they'll play a few from their first album. I'll be seeing them in Auburn, WA on Warped Tour's last day but I have no doubts that they'll still put on a stellar performance!

Hope this gets you somewhat stoked for an otherwise unimpressive lineup (so far) :)

@emobanana22

I know! I'm über stoked! I tweeted them the second I seen that they were playing. I'll be seeing them at warped in Cincinnati! Nick had an amazing voice and I loved the sound he gave, but you're so right, Bryan does an amazing job! I'm really wanting to get the new album while I'm at their merch table! Very stoked to see them for the first time!(:
