Such wealthy poetry a toast!
A toast I call, and I want assault, and I want, and I want assault.
Heroin the heroine, you made a mess.
Now keep in mind.
Sure, you want assault, now get inside.
The lyrics of Malady's song "Heroine" appear to be an ode or tribute to the drug heroin. The first line "Heroin, the heroine, my model citizen" seems to suggest that the singer sees heroin as a role model or someone to look up to. They describe it as "wealthy poetry," perhaps referring to the addictive and all-consuming nature of the drug.
The next line "A toast I call, and I want assault," is more difficult to interpret. It's unclear whether the singer is toasting the drug, or if the "assault" they want is a reference to the act of injecting heroin. The repeated phrase "and I want assault" adds to the sense of urgency and desperation in the song.
The second verse takes a darker turn, with the line "Heroin the heroine, you made a mess." This could be a reference to the destructive nature of addiction, and the havoc it can wreak on a person's life. The following line "Now keep in mind" serves as a warning or cautionary statement, as if the singer is acknowledging the dangers of heroin.
