Maler Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Madame Alaqui
Medina Vieja
De medianoche
Pequena luce

Y jamais in mi vida
I was so solitaire
Madame...

It was laberinto
De silencio out of the time
Y un hombre avec djellaba blanca
Aparecio to say to me
"Voilà la mort"

Et alors j'ai vu
Entre sus ojos
Imagen de elle

Virgen velada
Alma escondida
Pour moi desnuda
Y yo miraba

Soy el loco de Dja Ma el Fnaa
Lo que suena la realidad
Y te engana con la verdad
Ce soir

Je voudrais donnez one historie
Trois dirham s'il tu plais madame
And the secret of Soledad
Tu auras

No tengo amigos, ni familia
Pero la estrella de mon coeur
Es una obscura maravilla
And rien I see but todo I Know
I Know, madame

Amora escucha
Ma marrakchia
Como fui ciego
Desbe aquel dia

Que repente j'ai compris
That God is femme
Despues...

Vino en mi casa
Un angel noir
Y aussi me hablò:

"Nadie aqui puede conocer
La sombra du le deep mystere...
Dijo: forget..."

But ma vision is mon destino
Et ma libertè

Por mi pecado
I was maldido
Jamas pentido
Y nada olbido

Soy el loco de Dja Ma el Fnaa
Lo que suena la realidad
Y te engana con la vertad
Ce soir

Je voudrais donnez one historie
Trois dirham s'il tu plais madame
And the secret of Soledad
Tu auras

No tengo amigos, ni familia
Pero la estrella de mon coeur
Es una obscura maravilla
And rien I see but todo I Know

Madame Alaqui
Medina Vieja

De medianoche
Pequena luce

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Maler's song "1999" take the listeners on a journey through various emotions and experiences. The song begins with the mention of Madame Alaqui, Medina Vieja, and a small light that is present at midnight. The singer says that never before in his life was he so lonely. He talks about being in a labyrinth of silence that is out of time, and a man wearing a white djellaba appears and tells him, "Voilà la mort" (Here is death). Immediately after, he sees an image of a veiled virgin and a hidden soul that is naked for him to see. He further talks about being the crazy one from Dja Ma el Fnaa, where reality sounds and deceives with the truth.

The song also highlights the singer's search for a deep mystery that he is not allowed to know, as an angel warned him that nobody can know the shadow of the deep mystery. Even though he was cursed for his sins and has no friends or family, the singer's heart is filled with the dark wonder of a star. Overall, the lyrics paint a vivid picture of a complex emotional journey, illusions, loneliness, and a search for meaning and understanding.
