"itoshii hito... GARDENIA"

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to "Gardenia" by MALICE MIZER are poetic and evocative, painting a picture of a beautiful garden setting in the midst of a seemingly endless night. The opening lines describe the end of this night, as the hints of dawn begin to appear and a person (presumably the singer) is watching someone else (the subject of the song) open their eyes and take in the beauty of the garden. They stand together in the gentle sunlight, touching and feeling the warmth of the white flowers that surround them.

The chorus features the title flower, Gardenia, which seems to symbolize the subject of the song. The singer talks of never letting go of this person and holding them close, deeply cherishing everything about them. The second verse builds on the imagery of the first, evoking the memory of a dream the singer had previously that brought them to this moment. They are determined to keep this person with them in the "eternal garden" they have found, forever surrounded by the beauty and sweetness of the gardenias.

Overall, the lyrics to "Gardenia" describe a moment of love and beauty shared by two people in a peaceful and idyllic setting. The use of natural imagery and specific flower symbolism adds to the sense of magic and enchantment in the scene. The singer's love for the subject of the song is palpable and intense, creating a sense of deep emotional connection between the two.

This took a lot of work, and four different rendering tries because of mistakes! I hope you enjoy it! I want a lot of people to see this edit, the world of MALICE MIZER needs a good Gardenia, after many years of 240p and no full PV. I usually don't ask this, but please hit that like button, comment, even if it's just a "thanks", share it with your MM friends, or just watch it a second time, every little click will help get this more popular.

Thank you for work.
But why did not you use similar moments from Cardinal for this video? For example, for 1'st chorus at the end when Klaha sings "dakishimete hanasanari you ni" you could use similar moment from 2'nd chorus from Cardinal. I think, it would have looked better.
And why you think, that PV moments from Cardinal re-recorded? I always thougt, that it's from original, but untreated (whithout whiteness).

@cantavanda

I'm not really sure what you're referring to, but yeah maybe the lip syncing on the Cardinal parts could have been better, but luckly it's just a very minor detail haha. Maybe you're referring to live parts, I dunno and I didn't want to include any live parts in it. And I think they rerecorded it since they just never released the original on the DVD. The set is also a bit different, no structures, only trees, and it's very yellow on cardinal (I brightened the Cardinal parts a lot to fit the original PV better, and of course I darkened the original). I'm not sure of course, I just think it.

Thank you so very much for creating an HD version, Cantavanda! Your hard work is appreciated. Seeing everyone's faces in full clarity is refreshing. Also, I knew I recognized that username from somewhere... I follow you on Last.fm! Again, many thanks for being an invaluable and helpful hand in the MM community and creating so many HD uploads.

@vsevolodzinkevich2746

Yes, I'm about lips. Klaha sings this words, and this part of video is different from same moment in PV. But, if you think that it's minor detail — it's your choice.
And fact that this PV was never released say us almost nothing. In 90's it's was not rare.
I say more, they (all bands) often record live-concerts and release only parts of them, or use some moments for footage for some songs, or just only record and do nothing.

Thanks for the great quality.

I know most fans prefer the poppier Gackt era but I absolutely love the stuff they did with Klaha. There's just so much more depth. They really started to stretch their limits. It still blows my mind that this is basically pop rock in Japan becuase quite frankly the composition and execution of these songs is absolutely out of this world.

@aryowincaster2775

Well, for me it's like:
Gackt: Light / Sun
Klaha: Dark / Moon
Maybe Malice Mizer it's not the type of Gackt music since their music seem a little bit dark, like this Gardenia, and he's a little bit uncomfortable with it.

@xomasubliminals1398

I prefer Gackt and Tetsu but some of Klaha's music is definitely my favorite, like this song. :D Klaha's era is so beautiful and underrated.

@gusi1226

I don't have a favorite, everyone has their own style. Actually the Tetsu era was pretty good ❤️
