Malignancy's "The Breach" explores the consequences that arise from punishing individuals for the sins of their fathers. The lyrics indicate the result of intolerance bred in a culture that judges others is that they ultimately become blind to their misguided principles. The consequences of a long-standing conflict between two factions where both parties have suffered significant losses is now apparent. The balance of power has been upset, resulting in a deviation from established paths of life. A by-product of this conflict has been the emergence of defectors who try to cross over to the other side. These defectors are viewed as a deviation from the bloodline and therefore are treated as threats. As they attempt to join one side, they we are met with disgust, which only intensifies their search for a way to escape.
In response to this existential crisis is the emergence of a new form that is already equipped with the capability to destroy. A positive force must lead the lost, suppressing the emptiness through destructive means. With the creation of this ultimate form, there is a way to escape. The final solution presents itself via the intermingling of the ultimate life form and its offspring. However, this first effort at alliance fails; hence the opportunity to escape is also lost.
The lyrics also indicate that a new world is opening for those involved in the conflict. The emergence of this environment allows them to view their former civilization and the impracticalities of the judgment and decisions made over time. The lyrics also show that the individuals involved in the conflict are forgotten test subjects in the grand design.
