C'Mon
Man Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Take a look around you
At what's to see
So many human beings
Just tryin' to be
One of them is you
One of them is you
One of them is you
One of them is you
C'mon integration
C'mon integration
C'mon integration
Stop this fear
Just the other day
I felt so queer
And all this apprehension
Is always near
I don't know why
I don't know why
I don't know why
I don't know why
C'mon integration
C'mon integration
C'mon integration
Right now
Yeah C'mon integration
C'mon integration

C'mon integration
Stop this fear

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Man's song "C'mon" speak about the importance of integration and acceptance of diversity. The first verse talks about the vast number of human beings in the world, all trying to find their place. The repetition of "one of them is you" emphasizes the universal nature of this struggle. The chorus then urges for integration, a coming together of different backgrounds and perspectives to unite as one. The repetition of "stop this fear" further emphasizes the need for acceptance and a rejection of discrimination.

The second verse delves into the personal experience of the singer, who has felt isolated due to their differences. They express confusion and questioning about why apprehension always seems to be near them. Once again, the chorus calls for integration and the end of this fear.

Overall, "C'mon" is a powerful call to action for embracing diversity and creating a world where everyone is accepted and valued for who they are.

The dual guitars around the 2-minute mark are one of the most beautiful guitar sounds ever. “Be Good To Yourself…” has always been one of my favourite albums.

Brilliant live band, saw them 14 times from 1972 onwards. I even went backstage at one of the later gigs for a smoke with Deke, Mickey, Martin and Jon "Pugwash" Weathers former drummer of Gentle Giant. Great Times.

I saw Man at the Croydon Cartoon around 1991 or 1992 with Weathers on the drums. Sticks in the mind as one of the best gigs I have ever been to. A fearsome live band.

A wonderful band, tracks like this don't age.as with great bands like The Dead, Man always make you feel glad to be alive, vibrant and imaginative. Deke, please, keep the flame alive, rip Micky.
As an aside, tomorrow is the day 20 years ago the greatest rocker I ever saw passed away- rip Rory Gallagher.
