The act was composed of brothers Mikki and Paul Zone, who had been known on the local Brooklyn music scene since the mid 1970s. Paul participated in a band called The Fast during this period, with songs such as "Boys Will Be Boys"; the group gained some national attention with a second album being produced by Ric Ocasek of The Cars.
After The Fast, the brothers spent the first half of the 1980s singing on a number of Hi-NRG and disco records for producers such as Bobby Orlando (records like Divine's "Native Love" and The Flirts' "Passion"). Soon after they formed a new band, which was originally called Man's Favourite Sports. However, another band had already claimed the right to use this name, so the Zone brothers became known as Man 2 Man.
Under this name the band scored their biggest hit, "Male Stripper", teaming up with cult electro producer Man Parrish. Originally released in the United Kingdom in 1986 on the Bolts Records label, "Male Stripper" was a big club hit throughout the autumn and peaked at #64 on the UK Singles Chart.[1] In early 1987, "Male Stripper" charted again in the UK, and this time the song became an even bigger hit, spending five weeks in the Top 10 and two weeks at #4 on the UK Singles Chart.[2] Unfortunately, this success was never seen by group member Mikki, who had died of spinal meningitis on December 31, 1986.
Due to the death of Mikki, Paul Zone decided to rename the act Man to Man and recorded a follow-up single. The record was a cover version of the Grace Jones hit "I Need A Man", which charted at number 43 on the UK charts.[3] Paul continued recording under this name into the 1990s, working with producers such as Jacques Morali. "I'll Try Anything Once" was released in 2008 on iTunes and features vocals by Debbie Harry of Blondie.

Working after hours
Ripples on my chest
Never got a nights rest
I was a male stripper in a gogo bar. A modern day Jack
A jock with an act
Hey Lolita touch me, squeeze me
Ooo... I was a male stripper in a gogo bar
Ahhh... I was a male stripper in a gogo bar. Built like a truck
I'd bump for a buck
Tips in my G-string, made my living
I was a male stripper in a gogo bar. In hot cop drag
In another man's stag
Dressed to tease him, strip to sleaze 'im
I was a male stripper in a gogo bar. Strip for me babe
Strip for you
Strip for me 'cause, I want you to. I was a male stripper in a gogo bar. I was a male stripper in a gogo bar. Strip for me babe
Strip for you
Strip for me 'cause, I want you to
I was a male stripper in a gogo bar.Ladies night Adonis
Working after hours
Ripples on my chest
Never got a nights rest
I was a male stripper in a gogo bar. A modern day Jack
A jock with an act
Hey Lolita touch me, squeeze me
I was a male stripper in a gogo bar
Ooo... I was a male stripper in a gogo bar
Ssss... I was a male stripper in a gogo bar.I'm built like a truck
I'd bump for a buck
Tips in my G-string, made my living
I was a male stripper in a gogo bar. In hot cop drag
In another man's stag
Dressed to tease him, strip to please 'im
I was a male stripper in a gogo bar. I was a male stripper in a gogo bar. (x4
The lyrics to Man 2 Man's song "Male Stripper" explore the experience of being a male stripper in a gogo bar. The song celebrates the power and sexuality of the male form and the performance of erotic dancing. The opening two lines of the song, "I was a male stripper in a gogo bar. Ladies night Adonis," establish the singer's identity as a male stripper and emphasize their physical attractiveness. The repetition of the line "I was a male stripper in a gogo bar" throughout the song creates a sense of nostalgia and pride in the singer's former profession.
The verses of the song describe different aspects of the singer's experience as a male stripper, including the physical strain of the job ("ripples on my chest, never got a night's rest"), the thrill of performing for an audience ("in hot cop drag, in another man's stag"), and the eroticism of the job ("strip to tease him, strip to please 'im"). The chorus, with its repeated refrain of "strip for me babe, strip for you, strip for me 'cause I want you to," emphasizes the intimate connection between the performer and their audience.
Overall, "Male Stripper" presents a celebration of sexuality and eroticism that challenges traditional gender roles and norms. The song suggests that the performance of sexuality can be empowering and affirming for both performer and audience.

People have been asking about Paul Zone & Miki Zone's musical connection with Bobby Orlando.
Bobby Orlando produced the first recordings of Paul & Miki’s pop/punk band THE FAST in 1975 including “Boys Will Be Boys” & “Wow, Pow, Bash, Crash” on the “Max’s Kansas City 1976” LP. An original version of "At The Gym" was Produced by Bobby Orlando with Paul Zone & Miki Zone as THE FAST in 1982 when they decided to venture into electronic dance music before they changed their name to MAN 2 MAN. An updated version of "At The Gym" was released by MAN TO MAN in 1987. In 1982 Bobby also produced & recorded The Fast songs "Unisex Haircut" and the original version of "Male Stripper" re-recorded as MAN 2 MAN in 1986.
"Male Stripper" was originally written & recorded in 1982! (re-recorded and released in 1986). It was the end of The Fast and Electro for us was on the horizon. We had just released the synth single "Moontan" so Miki and I went to work with the original Fast producer Bobby 'O' who was hot with The Flirts, Divine, Pet Shop Boys and his own recordings as an artist. We recorded a few singles with Bobby that were never released (he was already juggling more than a dozen acts on his own label "O" Records). We started with 3 songs in about 3 weeks of recording and mixing, "Unisex Haircut" (later we gave the song to John Sex to record), future Man 2 Man songs "At The Gym" (re-recorded and released in 1987) & "Male Stripper" (re-recorded and released in 1986). We performed all 3 finished masters at the Fun House that night. We had a roster of original new songs fully written & some from our days with The Fast that would turn out to be perfect for MAN 2 MAN. We'll always be grateful to Bobby "O" for being there with his support at the beginning of The Fast & the beginning of Man 2 Man.
THE FAST & MAN 2 MAN always had a roster of fully written & arranged songs ready to record. Producers, Co-Producers, Engineers, Mixers, etc. NEVER contributed with songwriting, melodies, musical parts or lyrics. All credits on all MAN 2 MAN & THE FAST original released recordings are listed correctly.
