Rob and Charlotte have spent much of the past few years playing together in folk-rock festival-favourites TheMoon Music Orchestra and Heavenly-signed 6-piece The Loose Salute. The Pair fell in Love on the orad and the music they have put together for Mancub Babywoman reflects the ups and owns of their journey together and the struggle to hold on to true love in the midsts of bohemia. They have been playing gigs as a duo in and around London for the past year and have recorded these songs with the help of producer Pritpal Soor (Flower of Zeus, The Loose Salute).
Whilst influenced by the songwriting of classic 70s artists like Fleetwood Mac, Paul McCartney and John Prine, their music contains and off-kilter honesty more common to the confessionals of modern American singers like Bright Eyes or even the ballads of Ryan Adams.
They are due to be playing this years Greenman festival, among other smaller events, and hope to release a full length album later in the year.
A Little Too Much
Mancub Babywoman Lyrics

And I swear I, won't ask again
I can't help it, think about you
And I can't help it, love you so
So, after you tell me, I think I aks again
Until you come back, to hear the same words
In the same way, over and overGrow to hate me, fall asleep with me
Thinking maybe one day, you will understand
I think I like you, a little too much
I like the way you, can pick me up
Makes me feel like, little better about myself
Wonder how it feels to be somebody else
In the moring, will you still be there
And if you leave will you creepout quietly
Talk about me with my baby
I bet you say I'm still not good enough
I think I like you, a little too much
I like the way you, can pick me up
Makes me feel like, little better about myself
Wonder how it feels to be somebody else
Maybe some day, we'll get somewhere
Get some money and a house
Say you'll safe me, dress and bath me
Thinking maybe one day, you will understand
I think I like you, a little too much
I like the way you, can pick me up
Makes me feel like, little better about myself
Wonder how it feels to be somebody else
The lyrics of "A Little Too Much" by Mancub Babywoman depict the desperation and longing of an individual who is hopelessly in love with someone who does not reciprocate their feelings in the same way. The singer pleads with their love interest to declare their love the first time so that they won't have to repeatedly ask them for affirmation. However, despite the confession of love, the singer remains insecure and unsure about their position in the relationship.
The lyrics suggest a fear of rejection and a desire to be accepted wholly by the love interest, which becomes an obsession to the point of self-deprecation. The singer admits to these feelings of infatuation, acknowledging that they like the way their love interest can make them feel better about themselves. The song touches on themes of identity, self-esteem, and the desire for emotional validation from someone significant.
Overall, the lyrics of "A Little Too Much" depict the complexities of unrequited love, the vulnerability it creates, and the desperation that arises when one is unable to reciprocate the same feelings.
