To the "I like the happy version better" comments....That's really the point of the original song, though 🙃. Shannon Hoon (lead singer of Blind Melon) died of a cocaine overdose. No Rain, like many songs born out of the grunge era, is basically saying "I'm bored, kinda sad, and have nothing but time to think about it." Blind Melon didn't reach the "star power" of Nirvana and Alice in Chains, so I can see why some outside of the fan base may not understand that. But as an artist, you've (in this case Mandy and her writers) got a responsibility to be responsible and respectful when using someone else's work. If someone made a warped down version of a song I'd released 30 years ago with my deceased friend, I'd probably sue somebody, too lol.

The lyrics being so much more cheerful and uplifting make it more suitable to the overall mode being used in the song, and the acoustic guitar as well. Not trying to offend any Blind Lemon fans here. I like the Blind Lemon song too, but I prefer the more positive lyrics.

I was reading about the lawsuit involving the songs! Then i went looking for Mandy's song and truly realised that it's not just that she appears to be stealing The song from the people of Blind Melon but she's also trying to sell rubbish instead of being a good thief and try to show better music to the world using the writing of others (as it's these days musicians way of living). Mandy: Ugh!
