On the first of January 2008, manes split up, and Cern formed kkoagulaa. In July 2013, however, the band resurfaced, promising an upcoming album recorded with the same lineup as Vilosophe, and linking to a new song "blanket of ashes".
There was a second band with name Manes which after two demos evolved into Ved Buens Ende. These two bands named Manes released a split together in 2009.

Manes Lyrics

I kneel, I prostrate.
From the head of Caper Aniza, the horned one, arise.
Upon my mouldering bones.
I will bring fire to thee.
Dark lord, hear my hall.
Into the crimson moon.
Obesessed by the rising moon.
The vile, unholy one.
From the abyss, arise, my master calls.
Evil supreme.
Jesus wept.
And heaven fell.
The song "Under ein blodraud maane" by Manes is filled with dark and cryptic lyrics. The opening lines "Fall into profound awe" sets the tone for the song, implying a sense of dread and fear. The second line, "I kneel, I prostrate" suggests that the singer is in a state of supplication or submission. The next few lines make references to the head of Capra Aniza, a horned deity in Norse mythology, implying a connection to pagan worship. The line "Upon my mouldering bones" could signify the ritualistic nature of the singer's worship or could allude to the singer being deceased themselves. The line "I will bring fire to thee" could suggest that the singer is offering some sort of sacrifice or tribute to the horned one.
As the song progresses, the imagery becomes more ominous and unsettling. The line "Obsessed by the rising moon" suggests a sort of madness or fixation with the night sky. The line "Jesus wept" could be a reference to the biblical story of Jesus weeping over the death of Lazarus or could be a way of mocking Christian beliefs. The final two lines "And heaven fell" could be interpreted in a number of ways, but likely allude to the singer's desire for the destruction of the divine or their rebellion against it.
Overall, the song is a dark and unsettling exploration of pagan worship and anti-Christian sentiment.

If I was allowed to keep only 10 records, this is one. Can´t get enough of it for more than 20 years. Unique, special, black, beautiful, perfect! It drives you deeper and deeper and deeper into.. nothing, all, darkness and light! What is todays Black Metal compared to this, Emperor, Diabolical Masquerade and first 4 Limbonic Art?

this is one of the greatest psychedelic BM works that few people know about! though i like their later stuff and the various mixes in their extreme sound, they didnt ever reached the sheer power of under ein blodraud maane , its dark visceral and utterly sinister-a proper protopsy bm gem ;)
