The band's launch was an immediate success with the covers of "Pavasariniai žiedai" (Spring Blossoms) and "Svetimi" (Strangers). Mango continued to achieve impressive milestones throughout their career, releasing nine albums that collectively sold over 310,000 copies. The band was recognized as the Band of the Year by Radiocentras Awards in 2000 and 2001 and by Bravo Awards in 2000.
In 2004, Mango faced a significant change when Asta Bridikytė left the group and was replaced by Lina Kaklytė. Despite the change, the band continued to produce music and entertain their audience. However, in 2007, Mango announced their retirement after releasing their third compilation of their best songs. They embarked on a farewell tour across Lithuania, including special appearances for Lithuanian communities in England, Ireland, and the United States. The final concert took place on March 31, 2008, at Šiauliai Arena, bringing an end to the band's ten-year career.
In 2014, Mango singer Rima Petrauskytė-Paulauskienė and the Bendžius brothers reunited MANGO with new members and continued releasing music under the new name "MAN-GO". Their return was a welcome development for their fans who had missed their music.
In 2018, Mango reached a significant milestone - their 20th anniversary in the Lithuanian music industry. This was a remarkable achievement for the band, and to commemorate the occasion, they released their 11th studio album, "2020". The album was an embodiment of Mango's signature sound, combining traditional Lithuanian folk music with contemporary pop beats and lyrics that celebrated love, life, and the human experience. "2020" was met with widespread acclaim from Mango's loyal fanbase and music critics alike, cementing the band's position as one of the most influential and enduring acts in Lithuanian music history.
Mango is also the stage name of a popular italian singer, born in Lagonegro, in Southern Italy (6 November 1954 – 8 December 2014). He was known for his style which fuses pop, rock, folk, world music and for his extensive vocal range. He is best known for the song "Oro", from his 1986 breakout album release Odissea. Other hits include "Lei verrà", "Mediterraneo", "Bella d'estate", "Amore per te", "Come Monnalisa", "Nella mia città" and "La rondine".
Mango has been defined by Italian music author Mario Luzzatto Fegiz as an "authentic innovator of Italian pop music" and AllMusic considers him an "Italian rock fusion innovator". He wrote songs for Italian artists such as Patty Pravo, Loredana Bertè, Andrea Bocelli, Mietta. Part of his repertoire was performed by Italian and foreign musicians, including Mina, Mia Martini, Leo Sayer, Hélène Ségara and Eleftheria Arvanitaki.

Cielo immenso sul deserto
Immaginarla non si può
Un altro blu
Un altro blu
Spiagge bianche e barriere di corallo
E montagne e vaste praterie
Un altro blu
Un altro blu
Il vento è come un gran respiro che va
E spazza via confini e città
Entra in me e così
Io mi ritrovo quasi sperso
Nell'universo
Senza passato più leggero
Io mi risento ancora puro
Nell'universo
Entra in me e così
Io mi ritrovo quasi sperso
Nell'universo
Senza passato più leggero
Io mi risento ancora puro
Nell'universo
Mentre la luce piano sale
Alzo le vele, alzo le vele
The lyrics of Mango's song "Australia" describe the beauty and wonder of the continent, with its high coasts and open sea, vast skies over the desert, and endless blue. The song also mentions the stunning white beaches, coral reefs, and mountains that one can explore with horses, making Australia a new world to discover with great spaces in the middle of the sea. The song also speaks of the wind as a great breath that sweeps away boundaries and cities, entering into the singer and leaving him feeling almost lost in the universe, without a past, and lighter. It is a song that evokes freedom and the idea of letting go, of surrendering to the vastness and the beauty of the unknown, in this case, Australia.
There is a sense of awe and mystery in the song, as if Australia holds a secret that the singer wants to uncover through the sheer force of nature, with the wind as a guide to exploring it. The references to the universe and the feeling of being almost pure and weightless contribute to this sense of awe, making the singer feel like he is a part of something bigger than himself. It is a song that speaks of adventure and discovery, of the power of nature to inspire and transform, and of the beauty of the unknown.
