The band's launch was an immediate success with the covers of "Pavasariniai žiedai" (Spring Blossoms) and "Svetimi" (Strangers). Mango continued to achieve impressive milestones throughout their career, releasing nine albums that collectively sold over 310,000 copies. The band was recognized as the Band of the Year by Radiocentras Awards in 2000 and 2001 and by Bravo Awards in 2000.
In 2004, Mango faced a significant change when Asta Bridikytė left the group and was replaced by Lina Kaklytė. Despite the change, the band continued to produce music and entertain their audience. However, in 2007, Mango announced their retirement after releasing their third compilation of their best songs. They embarked on a farewell tour across Lithuania, including special appearances for Lithuanian communities in England, Ireland, and the United States. The final concert took place on March 31, 2008, at Šiauliai Arena, bringing an end to the band's ten-year career.
In 2014, Mango singer Rima Petrauskytė-Paulauskienė and the Bendžius brothers reunited MANGO with new members and continued releasing music under the new name "MAN-GO". Their return was a welcome development for their fans who had missed their music.
In 2018, Mango reached a significant milestone - their 20th anniversary in the Lithuanian music industry. This was a remarkable achievement for the band, and to commemorate the occasion, they released their 11th studio album, "2020". The album was an embodiment of Mango's signature sound, combining traditional Lithuanian folk music with contemporary pop beats and lyrics that celebrated love, life, and the human experience. "2020" was met with widespread acclaim from Mango's loyal fanbase and music critics alike, cementing the band's position as one of the most influential and enduring acts in Lithuanian music history.
Mango is also the stage name of a popular italian singer, born in Lagonegro, in Southern Italy (6 November 1954 – 8 December 2014). He was known for his style which fuses pop, rock, folk, world music and for his extensive vocal range. He is best known for the song "Oro", from his 1986 breakout album release Odissea. Other hits include "Lei verrà", "Mediterraneo", "Bella d'estate", "Amore per te", "Come Monnalisa", "Nella mia città" and "La rondine".
Mango has been defined by Italian music author Mario Luzzatto Fegiz as an "authentic innovator of Italian pop music" and AllMusic considers him an "Italian rock fusion innovator". He wrote songs for Italian artists such as Patty Pravo, Loredana Bertè, Andrea Bocelli, Mietta. Part of his repertoire was performed by Italian and foreign musicians, including Mina, Mia Martini, Leo Sayer, Hélène Ségara and Eleftheria Arvanitaki.

Credimi io non ci penso mai
Vedo che hai pianto
Tu lo sapevi ma da quando?
Bella d'estate vai
Via da me
Notte d'incanto
Io sono stanco
Non voglio parlare, parla tu
Bella d'estate vai
Via da me
Forse perché ti credevo felice così
Proprio così fra le mie braccia
Forse perché ci bastava arrivare fin qui
Come onde di notte sulla spiaggia
Oh, la la la la la la
Oh, la la la la la la
Piccoli fuochi
Noi siamo zingari di periferia
I nostri son giochi
Che durano poco
E la notte se li porta via
Bella d'estate vai
Via da me
The lyrics of Mango's song Bella D'Estate tell a story of separation and the bittersweet memories that come with it. The song begins with the phrase "È solo un addio," which translates to "It's just a goodbye." The singer suggests that he or she does not think about the separation often, but notices that the other person has cried. This highlights the difference in the emotional response to the end of the relationship, as the person leaving appears to be more affected than the singer.
As the song continues, the singer describes a beautiful summer evening and the desire to avoid conversation. The phrase "Notte d'incanto" means "night of enchantment," setting a dreamlike scene that contrasts with the sadness of the separation. The repetition of "Bella d'estate vai via da me" reinforces the idea of the person leaving and the sense of loss that the singer is experiencing.
The third verse introduces the metaphor of small fires that burn out quickly, describing the transience of the joys that they experienced together. The phrase "Noi siamo zingari di periferia" means "We are gypsies from the outskirts," evoking a sense of wanderlust and impermanence.
In the final verse, the singer acknowledges the happiness they shared but suggests that it was not enough to sustain the relationship. The repetition of "Come onde di notte sulla spiaggia" means "Like waves at night on the beach," drawing a comparison between the fleeting nature of their love and the ebb and flow of the tide.
Overall, the lyrics of Bella D'Estate express the complex emotions that come with the end of a relationship, from nostalgia and regret to the desire to move on and the inevitable acceptance of change.

@thejack01
Avevo 19 anni nel 1987, altri tempi, altri artisti. Mango lo ascoltai la prima volta con oro, qualche anno prima. Nostalgia maledetta. Quell'epoca, sebbene difficile, fu comunque foriera di speranza e futuro. Non tornera' piu'.
@omarlamine1528
