1) Is a project by Martin Schindler founded on or about 1997 which disbanded in 2005 but reunited in 2008. Both Martin Schindler and Tina Schindler are also active in electro act Black Heaven and metal outfit Sepia.
The band's name derives from Roman and Etruscan mythology, where Mantus and his wife, Mania were gods of the underworld. They were associated with the city Mantua. Mantus was identified as the "leader of souls", escorting the souls of the dead down into the underworld.
As already said, Mantus is a project by Martin Schindler. But his idea of dark romance only could have been realised by alternating singing of female and male voices. That's why he involved his sister always named as Thalia, which is certainly not her real name.
So the alternating female/male-singing is one incisive aspect of Mantus' musical appearance. Overall the style of the music ranges doom-metal to some kind of pop. The texts contain themes like love, hate, death, perpetuity or immortality but also criticism on global problems as racism, xenophobia and rape.
The reason for their minor popularity in spite of existing for 8 years and releasing 6 albums is that they never gave concerts or appeared in the charts (they never had any ambitions, too).

Mantus Lyrics

The lyrics of Mantus's song "Sterne" are a reflection on the pain and inner turmoil that one experiences after a breakup. The singer's words are falling in a sea of time and space, reflecting the feeling of isolation and loneliness that comes with the end of a relationship. The thoughts swirling inside of the singer are the essence of the darkness that they feel, a darkness that seems to be the very blood that flows through their veins.
The chorus speaks of the end of the world, the falling of the horizon and the burning out of the stars. In this apocalyptic vision, the only thing that remains is the person that has moved on from the singer, and the hate that the world holds. As the silence sets in and everything is forgotten, the singer can't help but feel the presence of the other person and the blood of the world that runs through their veins.
The final verse is a testament to the depth of despair that the singer is feeling. They are drowning in the pain and isolation that comes with the end of the relationship. They are desperate to hold onto a small part of the person that has left them but are left with only the dead feeling of loneliness and coldness.
Overall, the song paints a picture of the agony and heartbreak that come from losing someone you love. The imagery of the falling stars and the end of the world serve to magnify the sense of despair that the singer feels. The final verse is a resounding cry of pain, a reflection of the singer's innermost thoughts and feelings.
