Eu Me Proibo

De me roubar um beijo e me deixar assim
E sei, não vou saber me acostumar
Eu sei não vou saber me acostumar
E sei, não vou saber me acostumar
Eu sei não vou saber me acostumar
Se você não está, não, não
Eu estou ficando louca
The lyrics of Manu Gavassi's song "Eu Me Proibo" seem to express the pain and frustration of someone who is trying to move on from a past relationship. The singer is taking measures to protect themselves from the temptation to revisit the past, even though they are haunted by memories and conflicting emotions.
Initially, the singer is prohibiting themselves from thinking about the other person, because they have already experienced the heartbreak that will inevitably follow. They are also prohibiting the other person from coming near them and stirring up old feelings, because it will only lead to more confusion and hurt. However, even as the singer tries to distance themselves, they admit to feeling torn between regret and a desire for more from the relationship.
In the chorus, the singer pleads with the other person not to leave, but also acknowledges that they will struggle to adjust to a life without them. They demand that the other person not look at them or forget what has happened, while also admitting to their own struggles with sanity and the desperate search for a sign.
Overall, the song captures the complicated mix of emotions that can arise after a breakup, with the singer trying to regain control over their feelings and prevent themselves from falling victim to a painful cycle of hope and disappointment.
