Somewhere My Love
Manuel & The Music Of The Mountains Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Somewhere, my love there will be songs to sing
Although the snow covers the hope of spring
Somewhere a hill blossoms in green and gold
And there are dreams all that your heart can hold

Someday we'll meet again my love
Someday whenever the spring breaks through
You'll come to me out of the long ago
Warm as the wind, soft as the kiss of snow
Lara my own, think of me now and then
God speed my love till you are mine again

You'll come to me out of the long ago
Warm as the wind soft as the kiss of snow

Till then my sweet think of me now and then
God speed my love 'til you are mine again

Overall Meaning

The song "Somewhere My Love" by Manuel & The Music Of The Mountains is a beautifully romantic piece that speaks of the yearning for a lost love. The lyrics evoke a vivid sense of longing and hope, as the singer dreams of a future reunion with their beloved. The first verse speaks of the winter snow covering the promise of new life in the spring, but the singer believes that new songs will still be sung in spite of the cold. They describe a hill that blossoms in green and gold, a metaphor for the enduring beauty of nature and love. The singer believes that dreams are what keep the heart alive and full of hope.

The chorus declares that someday the lovers will be reunited, once again able to share the warmth of each other's presence. The reference to "whenever the spring breaks through" reinforces the idea that love and hope are resilient forces that can overcome even the darkest of winters. The second verse addresses the beloved directly, referring to them as "Lara my own". The singer urges Lara to think of them "now and then", demonstrating the depth of their longing and commitment. They bid Lara farewell with the words "God speed my love 'til you are mine again", expressing the fervent hope that they will soon be reunited.

Overall, "Somewhere My Love" is a poignant and moving love ballad that has touched the hearts of countless listeners over the years. Its timeless message of hope and longing is just as relevant today as it was when the song was first written.

No track 8 "Blue Waters" ???

Norman Mutch

My video for track 8, "Blue Waters", was removed by YouTube for "violating YouTube's Terms of Service". As the video consisted of photographs of the album cover and Geoff Love (Manuel), and the music, I assume that it was removed due to a copyright reason. I have received no further explanation from YouTube and have been advised that "Appealing this violation is not available". So, I'm afraid YouTube does not want my video for this track to be uploaded to their site.

@Norman Mutch Okay, thanks for the prompt response Norman. Does seem rather odd that the record company doesn't seem to mind since most of the Studio Two albums are now out of print ,or not available on CD. Boo Boo YouTube. Keep up the good work Norman

You are correct - the 8th track of the album is "Blue Waters". Unfortunately, the video that I uploaded has been removed by YouTube, who have advised that I am not permitted to appeal the removal. Sorry.
