In 2005, Glenn and the band he formed won a Battle Of The Bands competition on the island of Maui. With numerous performances already under his belt, Glenn formed Maoli in early 2008 with a new lineup of talented musicians. This Fall marks the release of Maoli's full-length debut album entitled, Groovin, on Pacific Island Records. The album's lead single, No One, is already receiving airplay statewide and is gaining popularity on island music airwaves. Other standout tracks from Maoli include the heartfelt Write Me A Letter, a song about missing a loved one, featuring Malino’s Braddah Vince and the uptempo, Groovin’, featuring the sweet vocal sounds of Piilani Arias.
Dangerous Woman

Made my decision to test my limits
'Cause it's my business
God as my witness
Start what I finished
Don't need no hold up
Taking control of this kind of moment
I'm locked and loaded
All that you got, skin to skin, oh my God
Don't ya stop, boy...
Somethin' 'bout you makes me feel like a dangerous woman
Somethin' 'bout, somethin' 'bout, somethin' 'bout you
Makes me wanna do things that I shouldn't
(Somethin' 'bout, somethin' 'bout, somethin' 'bout...)
Nothing to prove and I'm bulletproof and
Know what I'm doing
The way we're movin' like introducing
Us to a new thing
I wanna savor, save it for later
The taste of flavor, cause I'm a taker
Cause I'm a giver, it's only nature
I live for danger
All that you got, skin to skin, oh my God
Don't ya stop, BOY!
Somethin' 'bout you makes me feel like a dangerous woman
Somethin' 'bout, somethin' 'bout, somethin' 'bout you
Makes me wanna do things that I shouldn't
Somethin' 'bout, somethin' 'bout, somethin' 'bout you
All girls wanna be like that
Bad girls underneath, like that
You know how I'm feeling inside
Somethin' 'bout, somethin' 'bout
All girls wanna be like that
Bad girls underneath, like that
You know how I'm feeling inside
Somethin' 'bout, somethin' 'bout
Somethin' 'bout you makes me feel like a dangerous woman
Somethin' 'bout, somethin' 'bout, somethin' 'bout you
Makes me wanna do things that I shouldn't
Somethin' 'bout, somethin' 'bout, somethin' 'bout you
All girls wanna be like that
Bad girls underneath like that
You know how I'm feeling inside
Somethin' 'bout, somethin' 'bout
All girls wanna be like that
Bad girls underneath like that
You know how I'm feeling inside
Somethin' 'bout, somethin' 'bout
Yeah, there's somethin' 'bout you boy
Yeah, there's somethin' 'bout you boy
Yeah, there's somethin' 'bout you boy
Yeah, there's somethin' 'bout you boy
(Somethin' 'bout, somethin' 'bout, somethin' 'bout you...)
Yeah, there's somethin' 'bout you boy
Yeah, there's somethin' 'bout you boy
Yeah, there's somethin' 'bout you boy
Yeah, there's somethin' 'bout you boy
(Somethin' 'bout, somethin' 'bout, somethin' 'bout you...)
The lyrics of Maoli's song "Dangerous Woman" impose a sense of empowerment and confidence within the singer. The song symbolizes a shift of power from the male-dominated society to the power of the female individual. The singer takes control of the moment and owns her decisions without needing anyone's permission. She declares that she has nothing to prove and is bullet-proof, knows what she is doing, and takes what she wants while also giving what is natural. The interaction between the two individuals is consensual, skin to skin, and without permission. The experience of intimacy and attraction between the two is what makes the singer feel like a dangerous woman.
The chorus repeats the phrase, "something 'bout you makes me feel like a dangerous woman," signifying that it is the closeness and intimacy between the two individuals that makes the singer feel powerful and invincible. The singer also acknowledges that all girls want to be like that, and that bad girls are underneath, which implies that the power dynamics of society have always existed but are hidden under the surface. The song embraces the natural instincts of taking risks and living for danger, signaling that it is okay to take risks and break societal norms.
Overall, the lyrics of "Dangerous Woman" by Maoli exude confidence, empowerment, and sexuality, signifying a shift in modern society's power dynamics.
