I got a full moon
I got a full moon

I got a full moon in my tail light
I got a full moon in my port sight

I got a full moon in my port sight
I got a full moon in my tail light

I got a full moon
I got a full moon

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of "Man in the Moon" by Maps and Diagrams are relatively simple and repetitive, yet they evoke a melancholic and introspective mood that may vary depending on the listener's interpretation. The repeated phrase "I got a full moon" may suggest a feeling of completeness or satisfaction with the present surroundings, even if there is some ambiguity or uncertainty in the specifics. The use of "port sight" and "tail light" conveys a sense of movement or travel, perhaps indicating that the singer is on a journey or contemplating one. The fact that the full moon is present in both directions may imply that the singer is not fazed by the past or the future, but rather focusing on the present moment and its potential.

Overall, "Man in the Moon" can be seen as a simple yet effective meditation on the human condition, its ups and downs, and the role that nature plays in our perception of reality. The use of the moon as a symbol of change, time, and emotion is a common theme in poetry and literature, and here it is used to convey a sense of longing, nostalgia, and hope. The song's repetitive structure and atmospheric soundscapes add to this dreamlike quality, inviting listeners to immerse themselves in the music and reflect on their own experiences and emotions.

I agree with you! Jayfeather, in my view, is a cat that needs help, mentally.
Jayfeather acts this way, i think, because he tought that being blind makes him weaker than his sister and brother. The failures in the apprentice trainment just reinforces it.
When Jayfeeather could actually know what cats tought of him, using his powers, he felt more broken and weaker.
He started to be angry for show that he's strong as his sister and brother are. That he's worthy of respect (wich isnt the right way to gain respect but still).
Jayfeather just needs help, but, as you saw, he hates feeling weak. He doesnt wants to feel weak (in emotions), such as crying or telling what he is feeling for other cats.
In a bonus scene of The Broken Code arc shows this soft-side, more of a need-to-help side of Jayfeather.
I think he just needs help of the right cat.
Thats just my point of view, nothing more, nothing less.
And so, i can understand Jayfeather, since i hate to feel "weak", i hate to cry in public or while im arguing with someone.
But, back to your favorite gray tabby medicine cat, i love him, he's a complex character that have layers, lots of them. Its not just "grumpy grr get out of my way", he's more than that. im surprised that people are blindest than him to not see whats going on. /gen
