Como vou saber
Que sente minha falta?
Ouvi dizer que cansou de bancar o forte
Sua bússola aponta pro norte do nosso amor
Nossas promessas, não me interessam
Foi a última coisa que ouvi você falar
Pra sumir da sua vida
'To sabendo
Que não para de chorar
Que pediu pro vento soprar
Meu perfume da sua cama
'To sabendo
Que anda ouvindo a minha voz
Que sentiu meu cheiro nos lençóis
Abraçado no seu travesseiro
A saudade apertando no peito
Nossas promessas, não me interessam
Foi a última coisa que ouvi você falar
Pediu pra não te procurar
Pra sumir da sua vida
'To sabendo
Que não para de chorar
Que pediu pro vento soprar
Meu perfume da sua cama
'To sabendo
Que anda ouvindo a minha voz
Que sentiu meu cheiro nos lençóis
Abraçado no seu travesseiro
A saudade apertando no peito
'To sabendo
Que não para de chorar
Que pediu pro vento soprar
Meu perfume da sua cama
'To sabendo
Que anda ouvindo a minha voz
Que sentiu meu cheiro nos lençóis
Abraçado no seu travesseiro
A saudade apertando no peito
Por que não me pede pra voltar?
The lyrics of Marilia Mendonça's song "Silêncio" explore the theme of longing and lost love. The singer questions how they will know if the person they are singing to misses them if they cry in silence. They have heard that the person has grown tired of pretending to be strong and that their internal compass still points to the direction of their past love. The chorus repeats the phrase "I know," indicating that the singer is aware of the person's actions and emotions despite their attempts to hide them.
The second verse continues to express the singer's knowledge of the person's longing. They know that the person has been crying and has asked the wind to blow away the singer's scent from their bed. They also know that the person has been listening to their voice and has felt their presence in the sheets. The nostalgia becomes even stronger when the singer mentions the person holding their pillow tightly, with the feeling of longing intensifying in their chest.
The lyrics convey a sense of longing and the pain of lost love. The singer is aware of the person's emotions and actions, even though they have requested space and silence. The repeated use of the phrase "I know" suggests a deep connection and understanding between the singer and the person they are addressing. The lyrics also touch on the theme of nostalgia and the desire to be asked to come back, indicating that the singer still has feelings for the person.
