Amigo
Marc Anthony Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
The lyrics of Marc Anthony's song "Amigo" speak of the deep bond between two friends who have been through tough moments in life together. The first stanza sets the tone by describing the friend as a brother and always being there for the singer on every journey. The second stanza speaks to the friend's unwavering support, even in the face of adversity. The third stanza acknowledges that in life, there are difficult times where one needs someone to lean on, and the friend has always been that source of strength for the singer.
The chorus repeats the sentiment that there is no need to express everything that is being said but that it feels good to know that there is a great friend in one's life. This song is about the power of friendship, the trust and companionship that come with it, and the importance of having someone who is always there.
