Love Is All
Marc Anthony Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Na ha, ah-ah ha
Ah ha
When you hold me like this
So many memories fill my eyes
The first time we kissed
The times we nearly said good-bye
Tested and tried and still true
And stronger than we ever knew
Love is all
The laughter and the tears that fall
The mundane and the magical
Love is all
All is love
The careless word, the healing touch
The getting and the giving of
All is love
There's a me you've always known
The me that's a stranger still
The you that feels like home
And the you that never will
But still here we lie
Tender and trusting and true
With everything that we've been through
Love is all
The laughter and the tears that fall
The mundane and the magical
Oh, love is all
All is love
The careless word, the healing touch
The getting and the giving of
All is love
All the glory
All the pain
All the passion
That turns to ashes
Only to rise again
Love is all
The laughter and the tears that fall
The mundane and the miracle
Love is all
All is love
The careless word, the healing touch
The getting and the giving of
All is love
The main theme of Marc Anthony's song "Love Is All" is the idea that love encompasses everything - both the good and the bad. The lyrics describe the couple's journey through their relationship, from the first kiss to the moments when they almost broke up. The song emphasizes the fact that despite all the obstacles they encountered, they managed to stay together and even became stronger.
The first verse describes the intensity of the couple's shared history, highlighting the many memories that they have created together. The chorus reiterates the main message of the song - that love is all. The second verse introduces the idea that even though they know each other very well, there is still a part of them that remains unknown. Despite this, they are still bonded by their trust and tenderness.
The final section of the song touches on the highs and lows of love, both the positive elements like passion and the difficult moments like disappointment and heartbreak. While these emotions may turn to ashes at some points, love will rise again. The repetition of the phrase "All is love" drives home the idea that love encompasses everything and that it is the single most important part of our lives.
