There's even talk about you wanting me
I must admit that's what I want to hear
But that's just talk until you take me there, oh
If it's true don't leave me all alone out here (oh) (oh)
Wondering if you're ever gonna take me there (leave me all alone girl)
Tell me what you're feeling 'cause I need to know
'Cause I need to know
I need to know (oh)
Tell me baby girl 'cause I need to know (ah-ah-ah)
I need to know
I need to know (don't leave me all alone, baby)
Tell me baby girl 'cause I need to know
My every thought is of this being true
It's getting harder not to think of you
Girl I'm exactly where I want to be
The only thing is I need you here with me, oh
If it's true don't leave me all alone out here (oh) (out here)
Wondering if you're ever gonna take me there (girl don't leave me all alone)
Tell me what you're feeling 'cause I need to know
Girl you've gotta let me know which way to go (oh)
'Cause I need to know (ah-ah-ah, yeah)
I need to know
Tell me baby girl 'cause I need to know (tell me, tell me, don't leave me all alone)

The song "I Need to Know" by Marc Anthony is a plea from a man to a woman who he has heard wants to be with him, but he needs confirmation of her feelings before he can make his move. The lyrics suggest that the man is struggling with his desire for the woman, but is afraid to put himself out there until he knows for sure that she feels the same. The repeated refrain of "Don't leave me all alone" emphasizes the vulnerability he feels in this situation. The music itself is primarily driven by a Latin-infused beat that conveys the intensity of the emotions being expressed in the lyrics, particularly during the instrumental break when the trumpets come in.
The lyrics effectively capture the frustration and confusion that can come with a potential new romantic relationship. They show the internal struggle of trying to figure out what the other person is feeling, and the fear of rejection that can come with being open and honest about your own feelings. The repetition of the chorus creates a sense of urgency, emphasizing the importance of getting a clear answer from the woman in question.
