Te Amare
Marc Anthony Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
No quise hacerte a ti llorar
Te hice tanto daño
Me arrepiento y quisiera cambiar
Si por solo un minuto
Tuviese el tiempo de los dos
Si por solo un minuto
Te amare por siempre
Te amare al fin de la luz
Te amare por siempre
Te amare por siempre
Perdona mis errores
Perdona todo aquel dolor
Si te tuviera ahora, nena
Muero por verte otra vez
Si por solo un minuto
Tuviese el tiempo de los dos
Si por solo un minuto
Pudiera abrazarte otra vez
Te amare por siempre
Te amare al fin de la luz
Te amare por siempre
Te amare por siempre
Y me pregunto a diario porque peleamos constantemente
Y gritar fue mi error
Dejándome en rencor
Porque no crees en mi amor
Te amo mi vida, regresa a mí
Si, ámame, oh
Te amare por siempre
Te amare al fin de la luz
Te amare por siempre
Te amare por siempre
(Te amare por siempre)
(Te amare por siempre)
Te amare por siempre (te amare por siempre)
Yo te juro, nena (te amare por siempre)
Que te amare por siempre, eh
Yo te amare
(Te amare por siempre)
Eh, tú y yo
(Te amare)
In Marc Anthony's song Te Amare, the singer expresses regret for his past actions towards his love interest. He apologizes for hurting her and causing her pain, and wishes he could have the chance to change things. The lyrics "Si por solo un minuto/Tuviese el tiempo de los dos" (If for just a minute/I had the time for both of us) suggest that he wishes he could have done things differently, and perhaps taken more time to understand and appreciate their relationship. He promises to love her forever, "Te amare por siempre," and asks for forgiveness for his mistakes. The last verse reveals that their constant fighting and his own mistake of shouting and holding onto resentment has caused a rift in their relationship, and he pleads for her to believe in his love and return to him.
Overall, the song is a heartfelt plea for forgiveness and a desire to make things right in a damaged relationship. The regret and longing expressed in the lyrics are common themes in many love songs, but the raw emotion in Anthony's voice make this interpretation particularly poignant.
