Avec la chanson de l'absence
Avec sourire, avec "je t'aime"
Sans savoir où tout ça nous mène
Juste le temps de vivre
Juste le temps de vivre
Juste le temps de vivre
Avec les larmes au creux des mains
Avec hier et pour demain
Avec soupir, avec "je rêve"
Sans savoir où l'amour s'achève
Juste le temps de vivre
Juste le temps de vivre
Juste le temps de vivre
Jusqu'à la fin du livre
Avec sa peau et les caresses
Avec ta force et ma faiblesse
Avec "j'ai peur", avec "je pars"
Sans savoir où le jour s'égare
Juste le temps de vivre
Juste le temps de vivre
Juste le temps de vivre
Jusqu'à la fin du livre
Juste le temps de vivre
Juste le temps de vivre
Juste le temps de vivre
Jusqu'à la fin du livre
In Marc Lavoine's song "Le Temps De Vivre," the lyrics express the fleeting nature of life and love. The lines "Avec les yeux et le silence, avec la chanson de l'absence" (With eyes and silence, with the song of absence) evoke a sense of longing and loneliness. The singer is resigned to the fact that life is short, and we must cherish the present moment before it's too late. The lines "Avec sourire, avec 'je t'aime', sans savoir où tout ça nous mène" (With a smile, with 'I love you,' without knowing where it all leads us) convey a sense of uncertainty and the futility of trying to predict the future. We can only enjoy the moment and hope for the best.
The chorus repeats "juste le temps de vivre" (just the time to live) four times, emphasizing the temporary nature of life. The second half of each chorus line, "jusqu'à la fin du livre" (until the end of the book), is a metaphor for the end of life. The book represents our life story, which has a beginning, middle, and end.
The second verse continues the theme of reminiscing about the past and dreaming about the future. The lines "Avec les larmes au creux des mains, avec hier et pour demain" (With tears in my hands, with yesterday and tomorrow) convey a sense of nostalgia and hope. The lines "Avec soupir, avec 'je rêve', sans savoir où l'amour s'achève" (with a sigh, with 'I dream,' without knowing where love ends) suggest that the singer is hoping for a happy ending but knows that it's not guaranteed.
Overall, "Le Temps De Vivre" is a poignant reminder to enjoy life, love, and the present moment while we still can. It's a celebration of life's joys and a recognition of its fragility.
