Myriam, Boulevard Ney
Me dit pas qu'c'est là qu't'es née
J'te vois là qui pique du nez, Myriam
Boulevard Ney
J'te vois là qui piquedu nez
De bas étages en bas étages
On tombe n'est-ce pas
Sur qui on tombe n'est-ce pas
J'dis ça pour ceux
Qui te connaissent pas
Certains soirs les visages des filles
Ont quelque chose d'épouvantable
Difficile de traverser
Myriam, Boulevard Ney
Qui c'est qui va t'ramasser
Drôle de théâtre alité
Myriam, Boulevard Ney
Me dis pas qu'c'est l'Athénée
Fleury, Strasbourg St-Denis, Vincennes
Fleury, Strasbourg St-Denis, Vincennes
Le plaisir vaut-il la peine
Et certains soirs les visages des filles
Ont quelque chose d'épouvantable
Sexe c'est pressé t'faut de la monnaie
Myriam, Boulevard Ney
Petite momie décharnée
Bon Dieu, qu'est-ce qu'on lui a fait
Myriam, Boulevard Ney
Pour qu'on s'retrouve nez à nez
De bas étages en bas étages
On tombe n'est-ce pas
On n'sait même plus
Sur qui on tombe, n'est-ce pas
On est des enfants
Qui naissent pas
Certains soirs les visages des filles
Ont quelque chose d'épouvantable
Fleury, Strasbourg St-Denis, Vincennes

Ne dis pas qu'c'est là qu't'es née
Myriam, Boulevard Ney
The lyrics of the song "Myriam" by Marc Lavoine, describe the singer's observations and thoughts about a woman named Myriam who lives in Boulevard Ney. The first two lines of the song are "Me dit pas qu'c'est là qu't'es née, Myriam, Boulevard Ney" which means "Don't tell me that you were born here, Myriam, Boulevard Ney". The singer sees Myriam, who looks like she is falling asleep, and wonders if this is where she was born or if she has ended up here through a series of unfortunate events. He notices the different floors of the buildings and comments on how we can fall so far down in life that we don't even know who we are.
As the song progresses, the lyrics become more introspective and philosophical, questioning whether the pleasure of life is worth the pain. He comments on the horrors that some of the women's faces have, making it difficult to navigate through this world. The line "sexe c'est pressé t'faut de la monnaie" means that sex is rushed and you need money, which highlights the transactional nature of relationships in this environment. The singer wonders what has happened to Myriam and why she looks like a "petite momie décharnée" or a small, skinny mummy. He questions what we have done to her to end up in this place.
Overall, the lyrics of "Myriam" describe the harsh realities of life in Boulevard Ney and how we are all just lost and searching for a way out.
