Dime
Marcela Bovio Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
The lyrics of Marcela Bovio's song "Dime" express feelings of longing and confusion following a loved one's departure. The singer pleads for answers as to why this person is leaving and when they will return, seemingly unable to find solace in the full moon's light. The presence of memories and stardust are acknowledged, invoking the idea of a vast, powerful force that brought the two together but can now tear them apart.
The goodbye is seen as part of a universal dance, offering comfort to those who wait in darkness. However, the departure of the loved one only leaves the singer's world shattered and desolate. The horizon breaks, the sea is tinted with the red blaze of abandonment, and the heart races while the mind gives way to a long, cold dream that the singer will submerge their voice in until dawn.
In essence, the song speaks to the universal human experience of losing someone, and the confusion and helplessness that can follow. The poetic and metaphoric language amplifies the emotional impact, heightening the sense of loss and longing.
