Crawl
Margaret Becker Lyrics

The world blurs in front of me
In the window of this cafe
I sip the truth like delicacy
Chorus:
I'm alright
I know I'm not alonge
You know, I'll crawl
Tenacious and trembling I lift
This cup up to my mouth
I always knew it'd be like this
These waves keep rising up and down
I'm alright
I know I'm not alone
If I can't walk to You
You know, I'll crawl
I'm alright
Every day I'm coming close
If I can't walk to You
You know, I'll crawl
I set my face like a flint to the north
I watch these storms gather and sort
And I sing
I still sing
CHORUS
The lyrics of Margaret Becker’s song “Crawl” showcase a sense of determination and resilience in the face of adversity. The song starts with the singer feeling overwhelmed and lost in their surroundings, as the world blurs in front of them while they sit in a cafe. However, they find solace and strength in sipping the truth, which could imply seeking guidance from a higher power or finding clarity within themselves. The chorus affirms the singer’s resolve to persevere through difficult times, even if they cannot walk towards their goals or destination, they will crawl. The imagery of tenacity and trembling while lifting a cup to the mouth indicates a sense of fear and uncertainty, but also the courage to persist despite the obstacles.
The second verse continues the theme of battling against waves of turmoil, as the singer encounters the stormy seas of life. However, they declare that they are coming closer every day to their destination, and will not be deterred by setbacks. They set their face like a flint to the north, which could mean that they are steadfastly following a particular path towards their goal, or possibly seeking their true north or purpose. Despite the hardships, they still find that they can sing, perhaps indicating that they find joy or comfort in music or artistic expression. Overall, the lyrics of “Crawl” convey a message of hope and resilience, encouraging listeners to keep pushing forward even in challenging circumstances.
