1) Margot comprises of five friends who moved from the suburbs of south London to Peckham after finishing University. In two separate bands at the time, drunken nights out discussing the merits of a merger evolved into the first few rehearsals. It went well - Margot formed in 2018 and released a steady stream of singles across the year.
The band employ a DIY ethic, self-producing their recordings in their home studio. After ending 2019 supporting Swimming Tapes on their UK tour, the band released their debut EP in February 2020 and are set to support Dana Gavanski on her upcoming tour in March 2021.
Margot's nuanced blend of dream-pop, neo-psychedelia and jangle-guitar create a propulsive, cruising feel reminiscent of Real Estate or War on Drugs. Expect to hear more from them in 2020 and beyond.
2) Margot is a duo formed by two Italians guys: Pepe and Giaga. Pepe began his musical experience when he was 14 studying rhythmics, while Giaga took his first step in the music world playing the piano and singing at 14.
At 16 years old, they both got very interested in electronic music and now since more than ten years the two italian producers are working in the best underground clubs in Rimini (Cocoricò, Classic Club and Echoes) and Italy.
Lots of projects realized by this duo quickly got into the most famous Italian and international djs’ cases: Giaga Robot “Every Monday”, Margot "Autumn", Margot meet M.Makers "Torch ", Russian linesman "Bratislava Story (Margot Rmx), Margot - Lutammato, Margot - Goblin Think ( released on their label and played by James Holden for many months) and many more...

A la ventura
Si va senza rimpianti
Né paura.
Nostra patria è il mondo intero
Nostra legge è la libertà
Ed un pensiero
Dei miseri le turbe
Sollevando
Fummo d'ogni nazione
Messi al bando.
Nostra patria è il mondo intero
Nostra legge è la libertà
Ed un pensiero
Ribelle in cor ci sta.
Dovunque uno sfruttato
Si ribelli
Noi troveremo
Schiere di fratelli.
Nostra patria è il mondo intero
Nostra legge è la libertà
Ed un pensiero
Ribelle in cor ci sta.
Raminghi per le terre
E per i mari
Per un'Idea lasciamo
I nostri cari.
Nostra patria è il mondo intero
Nostra legge è la libertà
Ed un pensiero
Ribelle in cor ci sta.
Passiam di plebi varie
Tra i dolori
De la nazione umana
Precursori.
Nostra patria è il mondo intero
Nostra legge è la libertà
Ed un pensiero
Ribelle in cor ci sta.
Ma torneranno Italia
I tuoi proscritti
Ad agitar la face
Dei diritti.
Nostra patria è il mondo intero
Nostra legge è la libertà
Ed un pensiero
Ribelle in cor ci sta.
The song "O profughi d'Italia" is a powerful expression of the experience of exile and displacement. The lyrics convey a sense of fearlessness and defiance in the face of adversity, urging people to embrace the idea of a borderless world and the freedom to live as they please. Throughout the song, the singers assert their belief in the importance of rebellion, both individually and as part of larger social movements. The refrain "Nostra patria è il mondo intero / Nostra legge è la libertà / Ed un pensiero / Ribelle in cor ci sta" (Our homeland is the whole world / Our law is freedom / And a rebellious thought / Lies in our hearts) encapsulates the central message of the song, urging listeners to embrace a radical spirit of resistance in the face of oppression.
The song was composed in the 1950s, a time when many people across Europe were still grappling with the aftermath of World War II and the experience of displacement and poverty that followed. Margot and Gruppo Folk Internazionale were part of a generation of musicians and artists who sought to capture the emotional and political significance of this experience and to express it through their work. The song has since become a classic of Italian folk music, admired for its passionate lyrics and stirring melody.
