Procuro Olvidarte

Siguiendo la ruta de un pájaro herido
Procuro alejarme
De aquellos lugares donde nos quisimos
Me enredo en amores
Sin ganas ni fuerzas por ver si te olvido
Y llega la noche y de nuevo comprendo que te necesito
Haciendo en el día mil cosas distintas
Procuro olvidarte
Pisando y contando las hojas caídas
Procuro cansarme
Llegar a la noche apenas sin vida
Y al ver nuestra casa tan sola y callada
No sé, no sé lo que haría
Lo que haría porque estuvieras tú
Porque siguieras tu conmigo
Lo que haría por no sentirme así
Por no vivir así perdido
Procuro olvidarte
Haciendo en el día mil cosas distintas
Procuro olvidarte
Pisando y contando las hojas caídas
Procuro cansarme
Llegar a la noche apenas sin vida
Y al ver nuestra casa tan sola y callada
No sé, no sé lo que haría
Lo que haría porque estuvieras tú
Porque siguieras tu conmigo
Lo que haría por no sentirme así
Por no vivir así perdido
These lyrics, from the song "Procuro Olvidarte" by Maria Dolores Pradera, tell the story of a person trying to forget about a lost love. The singer is searching for ways to move on, but no matter how hard they try, they cannot seem to escape the memories of their former lover. The first stanza describes the singer's attempt to distance themselves from the places where they shared memories with their lost love, but they find themselves caught up in new relationships without any real passion or desire. As night falls, the singer realizes that they still need their former lover.
In the second stanza, the singer tries to distract themselves with other activities throughout the day, but they are unable to shake off the memories of their past relationship. They become exhausted from trying so hard to forget, and as they return home, they find themselves faced with the empty space where their lover used to be. The song ends with the singer expressing their confusion and uncertainty about what they would do if their lover were to return.
Overall, "Procuro Olvidarte" is a poignant and relatable portrayal of the difficulty of moving on from lost love, capturing the struggle to come to terms with the past and find a way forward.
