Maria Gadú (São Paulo, Brazil 1986), is a Brazilian singer of mpb, songwriter and guitarist .
She has been nominated twice for a Latin Grammy Award. She released her first album in 2009, self-titled Maria Gadú. Her single "Shimbalaie" became a number one hit in Italy during summer 2011, staying atop the FIMI chart for five straight weeks.
Begins to play as a child, and after having learned the basics for reading the musical notation, seven years later she begun to record songs on cassette tapes. Her real musical training begins at the age of thirteen, when she began to give concerts in the bars of Sao Paulo, playing music by Adoniran Barbosa, Marisa Monte and Chico Buarque.
At the age of twenty she began to sing on television and she signed a recording contract with Rio Slap the label to make his first album.

Amei, na realidade, depois da tortura e isolamento de mais de 5 anos, escutei essa música e gravei do rádio sem saber de quem era, prendeu-me em suspensão, estava precisando de um longo intervalo instrumental antes da verbalização das palavras com suas armadilhas sedutoras, para alguns musicos, também os instrumentos constroem emboscadas para os sentidos, quase uma hipnose que sucumbe-nos...
O som que nos cura parte de uma freqüência "On" ou "Om" meditar livremente e relaxar....
