O bloco dos sem medo
Um bloco happy
Um bloco crente
Um bloco black
Um bloco free
Quando eu dançar pro povo
Eu vou correndo
Eu vou dizendo
Esse bloco é lindo
Demais, assim
Eu já vejo juntando gente
De todo tipo
Com belas vestes
Bailando leves
Na madrugada
Amanhã virá ver o bloco
Fora do carnaval
No chão do inverno e a lua
Vai ter um recital
Do povo contente aos berros na rua
Pra fazer do povo saudade
Esse bloco canta vidas inteiras
E a multidão que se afoga ao dia
Essa noite é porta estandarte
Quando ao auge o corpo exala
Paixões florais pela própria dança
Ninguém se fala
Ninguém se cansa
A alma é o pulso do bloco
Fora do carnaval
No chão do inverno e a lua
Vai ter um recital
Do povo contente aos berros na rua
Fora do carnaval
No chão do inverno e a lua
Vai ter um recital
Do povo contente aos berros na rua
The lyrics of Maria Gadú's song "Obloco" convey a sense of empowerment and unity through the metaphor of a "bloco" or a carnival parade. The song speaks about the artist's desire to create her own bloco, a group of fearless people, filled with happiness and faith, embracing their blackness and freedom. It represents a celebration of diversity and inclusivity.
The lyrics also mention dancing for the people, running and proclaiming the beauty of this bloco made of cement. It showcases the artist's determination and enthusiasm, picturing a vision of people from all walks of life coming together, dressed beautifully, dancing lightly in the late hours of the night.
While the bloco is usually associated with the carnival, the song emphasizes its presence outside of the traditional festivities. It speaks of the bloco continuing its joyous celebration even in the winter, with the moon witnessing a street recital. The lyrics express the essence of the bloco, with the people singing whole lives and the crowd reveling in happiness, shouting in the streets.
