Maria Gadú Lyrics

Já voaram mil vidas
Já furtaram do lar e do amor
Tá bom, tantos cantos nas quinas
Dobrei tantas esquinas
E já me perdoei
Por ter mais que eu mesma
Tanto a fada madrinha
Quanto nada fizeram sonhar
Me encontro infeliz, nova era
Que as tantas quimeras não fazem calar
These lyrics describe the experiences and emotions of the singer, Maria Gadú. She acknowledges that she has gone through a lot in her life, with numerous experiences and multiple identities. She has felt the pain of being robbed of her home and love. Despite all this, she has survived and come out stronger. She has learned to forgive herself for her mistakes and to accept that she sometimes wants more than what is reasonable. As a child, with the help of imaginary beings like fairies and nothingness, she dreamed big dreams. But now she finds herself unhappy in a new era, where the multitude of illusions and dreams she had are proving impossible to silence.
The lyrics suggest themes of exploration, growth, and resilience. Maria Gadú's journey has made her into the person she is today. She has moved through dark times, understood her limitations, and learned to forgive herself for the mistakes she's made. As a result, she is stronger than before. However, she is still searching for contentment in a world full of illusions, bringing up themes of disillusionment and identity.

Quando era criança
When I was a child
Tanto a fada madrinha
