Her first LP was released in October 2018 on No Lagos Musique and Doubtful Sounds. Nina Garcia was born in 1990, she lives and works in Paris.

The opening lines of "El Mariachi" by Mariachi Vargas de Tecalitlán pay homage to the rich cultural heritage of the state of Jalisco in Western Mexico. From the town of Cocula comes the renowned mariachi sound, while the tunes themselves hail from Tecalitlán, a city famous for its son (traditional Mexican music) style. San Pedro contributes its own singing style, while Tequila, known for its world-famous drink, brings a bit of its signature flavor to the mix. Finally, Jalisco as a whole is celebrated for the machismo of its people, especially the way they strut their stuff in their trousers. This opening stanza represents a lyrical love letter to the proud, unique culture of this part of Mexico.
Following the opening stanza, the tone of the song shifts to a more personal, emotional perspective.
