In 1999, news media, infamously, falsely blamed the band for influencing the perpetrators of the Columbine High School massacre.

Despite this, Jon Wiederhorn of MTV, in June 2003, referred to Marilyn Manson as "the only true artist today". VH1 ranked Marilyn Manson as the seventy-eighth best rock band on their 100 Great Artists of Hard Rock. They were inducted into the Kerrang! honestly, i think their very first guitar player...on these demos and on portrait...was their best. his playing was so distinct and unique. very funky at times, heavy at times, and had kind of a warbly synthy tone to it. love it.

yes, scott (daisy) was the biggest influence on their early sound being so good & original.... brad (gidget) was the biggest influence on their early style.... I don't care about any of their official album releases, but the early MMSK demos are fuking epic.

Scott Putesky was, in my opinion, responsible for 95% of the sound that made Manson great, next to his early vocal style. RIP Daisy, often imitated but never duplicated.

Manson has been carried by his early music. The combination of scott and manson was the key. He dropped Scott after most of antichrist super star was written. It was then beefed up for more a metal sound by trent r and i think scott had issues on that. Manson was more on what ever gets the album out and trent was the final decission maker.
