After spending much of her childhood in foster homes, Monroe began a career as a model, which led to a film contract in 1947. Her early roles were minor, but her performances in The Asphalt Jungle and All About Eve (both 1950) were well received. She was praised for her comedic ability in such films as Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, How to Marry a Millionaire and The Seven Year Itch, and became one of Hollywood's most popular and glamorous performers.
The typecasting of Monroe's "dumb blonde" persona limited her career prospects, so she broadened her range. She studied at the Actors Studio and formed Marilyn Monroe Productions. Her dramatic performance in William Inge's Bus Stop was hailed by critics, and she won a Golden Globe Award for her performance in Some Like it Hot.
The final years of Monroe's life were marked by illness, personal problems, and a reputation for being unreliable and difficult to work with. The circumstances of her death, from an overdose of barbiturates, have been the subject of conjecture. Though officially classified as a "probable suicide", the possibility of an accidental overdose has not been ruled out, while conspiracy theorists argue that she was murdered.
In 1999, Monroe was ranked as the sixth greatest female star of all time by the American Film Institute.
Marilyn's personal life started at a young age at age of 16 when she firstly married James Dougherty on August 5, 1942 in Brentwood, California.
She divorced Dougherty on May 19, 1946.
After Monroe made How To Marry A Millionaire (1953) in 1953. She met Joe DiMaggio on December 30, 1954 at nightclub in Vegas. They married on January 14, 1954 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
She alleged that DiMaggio raped her on her wedding night. They divorced on August 4, 1954 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Monroe married Arthur Miller on June 4, 1956 in Phoenix, Nevada. They moved to Brentwood, California in early August 1956.
The couple divorced on November 12, 1961 in Los Angeles, California. She was found dead at her home in Brentwood, California after a barbiturate (sleeping pill) overdose on August 5, 1962 when she was age 36.
Down in the Meadow
Marilyn Monroe Lyrics

Old Mr. Winter whimpers and whines
Down in the meadow
Under the snow
April is teaching green things to grow
When Mr. Westwind hums in the blades
Old Mr. Summer nods in the shade
Deep in the brook
Catfish are waiting for the hook
Old lady blackbird flirts with the scarecrow
Scarecrow is waving at the moon
Old Mr. Moon makes hearts everywhere go bump, bump
With the magic of June
When Mr. Eastwind shouts overhead
Then all the leaves turn yellow and red
Down in the meadow
Corn stalks are high
Pumpkins are ripe and ready for pie
Old lady blackbird flirts with the scarecrow
Scarecrow is waving at the moon
Old Mr. Moon makes hearts everywhere go bump, bump
With the magic of June
When Mr. Northwind rolls on the breeze
Old Father Christmas trims all the trees
Down in the meadow
Snow softly gleams
Earth goes to sleep
And smile in her dreams
The lyrics of "Down in the Meadow" by Marilyn Monroe talk about the changing seasons in nature and the various elements of nature that are responsible for those changes. The song begins by painting a picture of the winter season when Mr. Southwind sighs in the pines and Mr. Winter whimpers and whines. However, beneath the snow, April is teaching green things to grow. The song then transitions to the summer season when Mr. Westwind hums in the blades and Mr. Summer nods in the shade. The imagery shifts to the meadow, where catfish are waiting for the hook in the deep brook.
The song further talks about the magic of June when Old lady blackbird flirts with the scarecrow, and the Scarecrow is waving at the moon while Old Mr. Moon makes hearts everywhere go bump, bump. The transition to autumn is then portrayed when Mr. Eastwind shouts overhead, and all the leaves turn yellow and red. The corn stalks are high, and pumpkins are ripe and ready for pie. Lastly, the song moves to the winter season when Mr. Northwind rolls on the breeze, and Old Father Christmas trims all the trees. The Earth softly gleams, goes to sleep, and smiles in her dreams.
Overall, "Down in the Meadow" by Marilyn Monroe is a poetic appreciation of the different seasons of nature and the roles that various elements play in shaping them. Marilyn Monroe uses the imagery of the changing weather to narrate stories and explain the magic that occurs during the different seasons.

I WAS BORN TO LOVE YOU (C)2006
I WAS JUST SEVENTEEN.
YOU WERE JUST A MOVIE QUEEN.
AND I WAS BORN TO LOVE YOU.
I DON'T KNOW WHO YOU REALLY ARE.
I JUST KNOW YOU AS A SUPERSTAR.
AND THERE'S NO ONE ELSE QUITE LIKE YOU.
YOU DRIVE A MERCEDES-BENZ.
I SUPPOSE YOU'VE GOT LOTS OF FRIENDS.
WHO SAY THEY'D LOVE TO LOVE YOU.
OUR LOVE WAS MEANT TO BE.
OH MY LADY CAN'T YOU SEE THAT.
I WAS BORN TO LOVE YOU.
I WAS TAKEN BY YOUR POWER.
A LONG LONG TIME AGO.
FROM WHICH THERE'S NO ESCAPE.
WHICH LEAVES NO PLACE TO GO.
SO I'M TRAPPED WITHIN YOUR EYES.
CAPTURED BY YOUR SMILE.
SURROUNDED BY YOUR REAF
WHICH EXTENDS SO MANY MILES.
I WAS JUST SEVENTEEN .
YOU WERE JUST A MOVIE QUEEN.
AND I WAS BORN TO LOVE YOU.
