2) Marina Lima was known by the name Marina in the start of her career in 1980's. Since 90's she has used her full name, Marina Lima. Lima is a Brazilian rock singer.
Starting her career before Brazilian rock of the '80s was commercially ripe, Marina Lima witnessed its creation from a privileged standpoint and participated in it as a successful pop star since 1984. Her most regular partner has been her brother, philosopher Antônio Cícero. Her biggest hits are "Fullgás" (Marina/Antônio Cícero), "À Francesa" (Marina/Antônio Cícero), "Pra Começar" (Marina/Antônio Cícero), "Nada Por Mim" (Herbert Viana/Paula Toller), "Eu Te Amo Você" (Kiko Zambianchi), "Ainda É Cedo," "Não Sei Dançar," and "Uma Noite e Meia." Her eclectic repertory features rock-tinged pop-dance music, blues, bossa nova, a typical samba-canção melancholy, and a very tiny pinch of jazz.
From five to 12, she lived in the U.S. where her father worked, and was taught to read in English before Portuguese. Attracted to psychoanalysis and music, Marina Lima (just Marina by then; she added her surname to her stage name in the '90s) started to write songs, opting for making a living in this career when Gal Costa recorded her "Meu Doce Amor" in 1977. The next year she formed a band that had a drummer who would be connected with the creation and the development of the Brazilian rock of the '80s, Lobão. Ricardo Barreto (guitar), Guto Barros (guitar), Zé Luís (sax), and Junno Homrich (bass) would also participate in that historic moment (they later became musicians of the seminal Brazilian rock band Blitz) as they were also in her band before the new genre took Brazil. Marina's first solo album, Simples Como Fogo (1979), already brought originals in the pop/rock style that would become mainstream in the next decade. But her first hit came in 1984, with "Fullgás," which had success with the title track "Me Chama" (Lobão) and "Mesmo que Seja Eu" (Roberto Carlos/Erasmo Carlos, here having its meaning altered as a confession of her bisexuality). Three years later, she appeared in the film Rádio Pirata (Lael Rodrigues) singing the main theme, which she also composed. With 15 albums released in Brazil as 2000, others were launched especially for the American market and dominated a period in which anxiety provoked a loss of voice; Marina Lima is one of the biggest divas of Brazilian rock.

Stay away Too Long

Don't ya stay away too long
Don't ya stay away too long
Away too long
Stay...
Don't ya stay away too long
Don't ya stay away too long
Don't ya cry for one more day
Just hear me say (I just want to say)
Don't stay away too long
A worm just met that apple
Sitting in a tree and she said:
"Oh, you're burin that hole inside of me"
Then he said "I'll break that sentence right now and set you free"
Then she said " Go, but come back again, don't stay away too long."
Now young Jessie lost her father
Round when she was three and she said:
Why, my daddy, in hell did you leave me?
You've left me empty and misguided
With eyes too young to see
I'm falling right behind ya pop
Cause you stayed away too long"
Only heaven knows the pain you've been hiding from
I don't care, no I don't mind,
I just hope you find
You've stayed away much much too long
Don't ya stay away too long
Come on back to the days we'll remember
We were young and life was kind
Now I just hope you'll find
You've stayed away much much too long
The lyrics of Marina's song, Stay away too long, convey a message of longing, sadness, and hope. The singer addresses someone who has been away for too long, imploring them to return to the days they remember. The song features two different stories, each with its own message, that ultimately come together to form the meaning of the song.
The first story is about a worm and an apple. The worm chews on the apple, causing a hole to form, which makes the apple uncomfortable. The worm then promises to set the apple free, and in return the apple asks the worm to come back and not stay away too long. This story highlights the idea of being uncomfortable and wanting someone to come back despite the complications.
The second story is about a girl named Jessie who lost her father at a young age. Jessie questions why her father left and how he could have left her so young and lost. She says that she is falling right behind him because he stayed away too long. This story emphasizes the pain of losing a loved one and the impact it leaves on those left behind.
Both these stories share a common theme of wanting someone to come back and not stay away too long. The song's ultimate message is about remembering the past and hoping for better days. It's a song about missing somebody, wanting them to come back, and hoping that they are okay.
