At her 15th birthday party she made her first presentation. "It was a surprise to all the guests. One of them was a manager who invited me to open a concert for a popular Brazilian singer called Fagner. After that, many other invitations came to me. I spent two years singing all around the brazilian northeast," she said.
Marina added that when the dream of recording her first CD arose, she felt that she still needed a little more preparation. She then decided to go and study music at Berklee College of Music, in Boston, United States. There she had harmony, vocal technique, arrangement, composition, stage performance, piano, percussion, musical style research and studio recording technique classes.
She also took part in a television program in Brazil, called "Fama". It is a reallity-show similiar to American Idol in which the public chooses the best from a group of pre-selected singers that auditioned for the show. She got the 4th place.

ALL SHE WANTS
Marina Elali Lyrics

Is go out with the boys
That's all she wants
'Cause all she wants
Is go out with the boys
That's all she wants
She is all made up
Her days are
Full of daydreams
And nights are
Full of sighs
Her daddy says
My daughter
I want
To understand you
I guess we need
A doctor to
Find the reason why
'Cause all she wants
Is go out with the boys
That's all she wants
'Cause all she wants
Is go out with the boys
That's all she wants
I'm sorry, sir
But I can't help you
'Cause you're
To blind to see
Your daughter's
Come of age
There ain't no remedy
Don't try to understand
Right now
What you should do
Is set her free to live
The lyrics to Marina Elali's song "All She Wants" depict the story of a young girl who desires to go out with boys, but her father disapproves of her behavior. The first and second lines of the chorus, "Cause all she wants is go out with the boys, That's all she wants," emphasize the girl's simple desires. She wants to have fun and enjoy her youth, which is evident in the lines, "Early in the morning, She is all made up, Her days are full of daydreams, And nights are full of sighs." However, her father seems to misunderstand her behavior, and he wants to find out the reason behind it. The lyrics, "Her daddy says, My daughter, I want to understand you, I guess we need a doctor to find the reason why," indicate his confusion.
The lyrics proceed to reflect the tension between the father and daughter. The line, "I'm sorry, sir, But I can't help you 'Cause you're too blind to see" reveals a disagreement between the two. The father cannot comprehend that his daughter is growing up and just wants to explore the world. Later, Marina sings, "Your daughter's come of age, There ain't no remedy, Don't try to understand, Right now what you should do, Is set her free to live." Here, she tries to convince the father to let go of his daughter and allow her to enjoy her life.
