Never open up, so afraid to trust
I'm selfish and I cross the line
And I think too much, when it comes to us
Through falling tears and flames, 'til burning
You walk with me ending, and
Don't have the heart to tell you where we're heading
Run, before the world scale, ground breaks beneath us
Run, I promise you heartache, mistakes and weakness
This smoking mirror hides my past
You never judge, and he holds me up
Don't wanna be the one to crash
But I see it coming, I see it now
Through falling tears and flames, 'til burning
You walk with me ending, and
Don't have the heart to tell you where we're heading
So save yourself
Run, before the world scale, ground breaks beneath us
Run, I promise you heartache, mistakes and weakness
It's scary me to be so cold
When you're the one I need the most of
So run, before the world scale, and save yourself
(run run run) It's killing me
(run run run) To be so cold
(run run run) When you're the one
(run run run) So save yourself
Run, before the world scale, ground breaks beneath us
Run, before the world scale, ground breaks beneath us
Run, I promise you heartache, mistakes and weakness
It's scary me to be so cold
When you're the one I need the most
So run, before the world scale, and save yourself

Marina Kaye's "Save Yourself" is a powerful and emotional song about self-awareness, conflict, and the struggles with vulnerability in a relationship. The lyrics are written from the perspective of someone who has difficulty opening up and trusting others. The persona describes their tendency to worry alone and cross boundaries, and their awareness of an impending break. The persona's partner has been supportive and accepting, but the persona fears that their personal struggles will ultimately cause pain to their partner.
