Marina released her debut album in the spring of 2011, produced by Tamir Muskat of the internationally acclaimed band "Balkan Beat Box”. The album includes originals, which she wrote and composed, next to songs she composed to lyrics by renowned Israeli poets.
Marina Maximilian Blumin was born in 1987 in the Ukraine to Alla, a piano teacher and musician. When Marina was 3 years old, the family moved to Israel, and she soon began her musical training playing piano, singing opera and classical music. At the age of 10, she began performing in festivals, including a classical duet with singer Charlotte Church at Israel's Millennium celebrations, accompanied by a symphonic orchestra. At the age of 14 she began performing in jazz clubs with original jazz.
Marina studied at the Tel Aviv High School for the Arts, graduating with honors from the Classical and Jazz performance departments. During her High School years she received several national and international scholarships and awards in the field of Jazz vocal performance and composition.
At the age of 15 Marina began performing in the theater. She participated in the Israeli production of the Mel Brooks musical "The Producers" as well as performed and wrote music for several fringe productions.
Marina gained her wide popular recognition while participating in the Israeli version of "American Idol", a show called "A Star is Born", in which she reached the final stage and won second place.
As a television actress she has participated in several critically acclaimed Prime Time dramas on cable and national television.
Between the years 2008-2011 Marina created three different performances. The “ExperiMental” show, which Marina also produced, includes original songs in English and Hebrew, accompanied by a band. In her new solo performance, “Amok Ba-Tal” (a line from a Leah Goldberg's poem), Marina accompanies herself on piano, performing original songs from her upcoming debut album.
Marina has performed at the International Red Sea Jazz Festival in Eilat and the Bolzano Jazz Festival, Italy. She also worked with local and international musicians such as the composer and bass player Avishai Cohen, Avi Leibovich, Jason Lindner, David Hazeltine, Deborah Brown, Leonid Ptachka, Omer Avital, J.K Allen and many more.

As far as it can get
Beyond bricks of regret
Please take me to that place again
Take me
Where stiff becomes velvet
Our clothes are soaking wet
The place we all know left
Take me
I'll train my mind to be
A loyal gentle pet
Please take me to the endless road
Of every silly step
I swear to you, my love
I do the best I can
I swear to you, my love
After this hurricane
Take me
'Cause the past left here its ashes
I feel my inside crashes
I don't wanna be led by fear
I'll make this coast now
Clear to me
I'm reaching out for life
Yet I don't want to be
A sacrifice, a warrior
I just wanna be me
I swear to you, my love
I do the best I can
I swear to you, my love
After this hurricane, ooh
Ooh, ooh
Ohh
Bless me
A kiss out of this mess, me
I'm dancing my soul out
I'm dancing my soul in
I'm glancing at the storm
Of the puberty we're in
I swear to you, my love
I do the best I can
I swear to you, my love
After this hurricane, ooh
Ooh, ooh
In Marina Maximilian's song Hurricane, the opening line "Take me / as far as it can get / beyond bricks of regret" sets the tone for the rest of the song. In this song, the singer is longing for a time and place where they were happy and carefree, before they were weighed down by regret and the mistakes of the past. They want to be taken to the place "where stiff becomes velvet" and their "clothes are soaking wet," a place that represents freedom and release.
The singer promises to "train [their] mind to be / a loyal gentle pet" as they embark on this journey. They want to be taken to the "endless road / of every silly step," a place where they can be their authentic self without fear of judgment or failure. The song is about the journey towards healing and self-discovery, and the promise of a brighter future after the storm is over.
