Juggernaut
Marino Frank Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Are the parents of one another
Moving ever moving crushing
Everything that gets in its way
Smiles telling lies about the future
I don't wat to believe them
Pity on their faces baby
Don't you think they laugh
Wheels of justice they have fallen off
Man's on crutches
Being kicked like dogs
It's a juggernaut
It's a juggernaut
It's a juggernaut
Politician's makin' money all the time
They murder our freedom
Filling up their pockets
While the people in the street
Lay and die
Man you're workin' hard as hell
You only end up paying more taxes
Give 'em all your money baby
Don't you think they give you a bomb
Lambs were slaughtered
For the sacrifice
Man's now offered up by his own kind
Cry for your soul
Young and old
Help your own
They will need it, heed it
Don't be caught between the stones
Economic pressure and recession
In a nation of madness
Living under fear of countries
Launching up a nuclear attack
Men are killing men with paper bullets
You may wonder how that's done
Money is the bullet
And the dirty greedy heart is the gun
It's a juggernaut
It's a juggernaut
It's a juggernaut
Rise or fall
One and all
Sink or swim
We can win
Oh how we can do it if we try
Superpowers playing chess
Along a board with people as pieces
Taking human life
Just like they're only
Sacrificing a pawn
Don't you know the game is rigged
The best that they will do
Is a stalemate
Who will be the judge of what is right
When we are lying in graves
We'll inherit from all of our nations
Not peace, only deadly radiation
It's a juggernaut
It's a juggernaut
It's a juggernaut
Marino Frank's "Juggernaut" is a powerful protest song that exposes the political corruption, economic pressure, and global conflict that threaten the lives of people around the world. The lyrics convey a message of social awareness and call to action. The opening lines of the song, "Evolution, revolution, are the parents of one another" suggest that progress and change are interrelated and that transformation can only happen through active resistance against the status quo. The phrase "It's a juggernaut" is repeated throughout the song and refers to the unstoppable forces of power that consume everything in its path, whether it be political systems, economic structures, or weapons of mass destruction.
The chorus emphasizes the destructive nature of these forces: "Moving ever moving crushing everything that gets in its way." The lyrics also expose the propaganda used by those in power to manipulate the masses, with "Smiles telling lies about the future, I don't want to believe them." The verse about politicians enriching themselves while ignoring the suffering of the people highlights the frustrations and anger that citizens feel when their elected officials betray their trust. The verses about military conflict and nuclear war underscore the potential cataclysmic outcomes of greed and nationalism. "You may wonder how that's done. Money is the bullet, and the dirty greedy heart is the gun." The song ends with a call to action - "Rise or fall, one and all, sink or swim, we can win. Oh how we can do it if we try" - and a warning about the consequences of inaction and complacency.

This song rings more true in 2023 than ever!
@steverizundrums
The drumming on this album is fucking unreal, Timm Biery is absolutely incredible. His timing is flawless, every song on this album is a masterpiece. As for Frank, he’s a guitar legend that slipped under the radar. A true musician and master on the guitar. This band defines what it’s like to be a tight/solid band, this is the true definition of what pure musicianship is. Frank Marino Forever.

As a long-time musician of both jazz and rock, I agree with everything you said . . . and I'm not a drummer. I recognize a master when I hear one, though . . . I bought the album in 1982 because I loved Strange Dreams, and I'd heard the legend of "the guy who woke up in the hospital playing like Hendrix," but still Frank was a shock . . . he still is. I don't know how he is not a superstar.
He's certainly a legend.
@angusorvid8840
He's one of my biggest guitar heroes of all time. Great singer and songwriter too.
