With music composed by Koji Kondo and Mahito Yokota, the adventurous score was recorded in late August 2007.
Kondo often asked much of the orchestra, such as playing at strange tempos in order to best sync with Mario's natural movements or incorporating sound effects into the orchestra scores themselves. The attention to detail paid off, and the soundtrack has since received much acclaim from both fans and critics alike, notably winning "Best Design in Audio" from Edge Magazine.

Ultimate legend
"Welcome to the galaxy."
The most powerful, and welcoming words for the 1st level of this game.
Also 0:50 to 1:21 is my favorite part of the theme.
And it's Indescribable why that part of the theme is also played, and fits so well in the cutscene when mario finaly saved peach, while flying away with her to safety with the help of the grand star.
God... i love this game. And it's amazing soundtrack
Iconic CROSS
Everyone says gusty gardens is the best song in the game, but good egg always does it for me. What a strong introduction to the universe.

This or Observatory 3. The soundtrack overall is absolutely stunning, though. Makes me want to play Galaxy. Again.

Good Egg works cause of the "wind up". Feels more like a Level/World 1 type theme. Versus Gusty Garden feeling more like "you're finally comfortable at this game to just enjoy the setpieces"
InTheEnd
I personally think the space junkyard music is the best in the game

@CaptainStolsie good egg sprinted as fast as possible so gusty garden could run
Krab
I honestly agree with this
