Serenade
Mario Lanza Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Serenade
Our love is the serenade
A song the heavens made and angels played
When first we kissed
We touched and I became divine my love
Because of you the stars that shine my love
Their mine my love
Serenade
Our love is the serenade
A song of sweet desire
No ordinary choir could quite resist
I have known the magic of

A theme that cannot take
Our serenade of love

I've always loved this song and Mario Lanza , my Mom and Dad played his records a lot. On Desert Island Discs Robert Plant of Led Zeppelin included this as one of his eight chosen discs. This song was also the one that he chose to save from the watery depths should there be a flood. I can't argue with him, it's magical...

🎆👁️👁️🎆. I Loved Mario Lanza also.
And I came here because Robert Plant told that this would be the Recording that He would Save from the Sea. In fact, I came directly here from there. 🤍💚🤍🍀🤍💚🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷

one awesome Crooner, Robert Plant , can recognize the greatness of another

@Life Liver I take your point, but I don't think either Mario Lanza or Robert Plant would be termed "Crooners" I would call Frank Sinatra and Bing Crosby Crooners...Messrs Lanza and Plant are different kettles of fish altogether

That's actually why I'm here now, lol. I love finding new (to me) music, especially through learning who my personal music icon's loved.

My mother always cried when she heard this song. Her younger brother use to sing this with his hands clasped behind his back.
He sadly died at only twenty six years old.
I just love this song as well and wish I had been around to hear my uncle Stanley sing this.

Thank you

Such a beautiful voice! My Dad was in a nursing home for the last month of his life. I'd go to visit him and his roommate and play music for them on my phone. They waited for me to come and play for them the music they loved from their youth. It was the most rewarding thing I've ever done in my life and im glad that I could make them happy in their last days.

You are a "special" lady! Bless you!

I played music to my mum too. She didn’t speak but I knew she could hear. Special memories of our holidays. Music is powerful, it has its own language that touches our hearts.
