It Don't Take A Lot
Mark Collie Lyrics

Something in the music takes me right back to where we used to be
You wouldn't think such a little thing could make me feel this blue
But it don't take a lot to take me back to you
I was talking to a friend of mine and he got around to asking how you were
But how was he to know just the mention of your name makes me hurt
I did my best to hide the way I felt but girl I'm sure he knew
A voice on the phone or a look from some stranger in a crowd
Sometimes just the sound of laughter makes me want to cry out loud
And late in the evening as the sunset fades to blue
It don't take a lot to take me back to you
It don't take a lot to take me back to you
In Mark Collie's song It Don't Take A Lot, the lyrics describe how the littlest things can trigger thoughts of a past love. The singer states that a new song on the radio can take them back to memories of being with their ex-partner. They explain that it's a small thing that can make them feel so blue. The song conveys the idea that sometimes it's difficult to move on from someone who has left an impact on your life, despite the fact that their presence is no longer there. The singer also expresses that other things such as a friend asking about their ex can cause the same feelings to resurface. The lyrics convey a sense of longing and nostalgia, highlighting the powerful nature of memories and the profound impact they can have.
