Yakety Yak
Mark Isham Lyrics

Take out the papers and the trash
Or you don't get no spendin' cash
If you don't scrub that kitchen floor
You ain't gonna rock and roll no more
Yakety yak (don't talk back)

Just finish cleanin' up your room
Let's see that dust fly with that broom
Get all that garbage out of sight
Or you don't go out Friday night
Yakety yak (Don't talk back)

You just put on your coat and hat
And walk yourself to the laundromat
And when you finish doin' that
Bring in the dog and put out the cat
Yakety yak (Don't talk back)

Don't you give me no dirty looks
Your father's hip, he knows what cooks
Just tell your hoodlum friend outside
You ain't got time to take a ride
Yakety yak (Don't talk back)

Yakety yak, yakety yak
Yakety yak, yakety yak
Yakety yak, yakety yak...

You said it.

Samuel Lee

Homer's dad is focusing on coal mining under ground but Homer is focusing on rockets that soar to the skies.

Transformers And Power Rangers Toy Reviews

They only briefly touch on this in the movie, but one of the sadder parts of the story is Coalwood is a dying town. Everyone knows it, everyone feels it, but they can't do anything about it. Knowing this somehow makes the movie and music more emotional for me.

Jonathan Clemens

Such a great, bittersweet movie.

reminds me of the situation going on today in west virginia

I love this scene so much. My favorite part is the way Homer's father looks at him and finally realizes what his son is capable of. Drives me to tears every time.

@justin knoepker Dude same, it gets me every time. She's literally on her death bead, it's like her final wish was that Homer would succeed in his scientific efforts. Than one of the last things she ever sees is his rocket soaring upwards.

Jonathan Clemens

@justin knoepker You too? 😭
