Hey
Ah mi said even when the skies are grey, you know I'll praise you anyway
And when the skies are blue, you know I'm giving all my thanks to you
Say, even when the skies are grey, you know I'll praise you anyway
And when the skies are blue, you know I'm giving all my thanks to you
Hey
I hear the raindrops beating pon mi galvanise roof
Don't know if ya there, Lord show me de proof
When I see the lightning and I hear the thunder roll
Mi get scared but I remember that you're in control
So, mi ah wrap up mehself inna meh warm blanket
Sip some hot cocoa tea and play some gospel reggae music
While I ride the waves, I'm gonna give you praise
Say even when the skies are grey, you know I'll praise you anyway
Lord, when the skies are blue, you know I'm giving all my thanks to you
Even when the skies are grey, you know I'll praise you anyway
And when the skies are blue, you know I'm giving all my thanks to you
Hear me now, hey
When the sun come out, Lord ya know I'm grateful
But when the clouds set up, man ah still be faithful
Mi know mi need de sunshine fi dry meh clothes
But mi also need the rain to water meh rose
So, mi ah hug up meh baby and mi dance through the rain
Because mi know seh that in life there is joy after pain
So, on my rainy days, I'm still gonna give you praise
Say even when the skies are grey, you know I'll praise you anyway
And when the skies are blue, you know I'm giving all my thanks to you
Say even when the skies are grey, you know I'll praise you anyway
And when the skies are blue, you know I'm giving all my thanks to you
Hey
Skies are grey
Skies are blue

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Mark and the Gist's song Rainy Days are about a woman who only seems to appear when things are going wrong or when it's raining. The main character describes her as a friend, and despite her tendency to focus only on the negative aspects of life, he is unable to give up on their friendship. The woman is depicted as someone who is always looking for problems and someone else to blame for those problems. She seems to almost thrive in the midst of bad weather and difficult situations.

The chorus, "Oh rainy day woman, I never seem to see you for the good times or the sunshine," acts as a reminder that the woman is only present in times of trouble. The character seems to have accepted her quirks and tendencies, and even sees her as a source of strength during difficult times. He knows exactly where to go on a cloudy day- presumably to find this woman to help weather the storm.

All in all, the lyrics to Rainy Days seem to focus on the complex relationships we have with people who are less than perfect. The song hints at the idea that even though the woman only seems to appear in times of trouble, she is still a valuable companion during those times.

This is the true crime I crave. Why does it always have to be about murder? Why isn't it more about guys who scammed a bunch of people and then faked their deaths?

Amen

@tellemdrivetheboat

the murders are now associated with the niche "true crime" but if you crave con artists and demented fraudsters stories they are not hard to find and there are hundreds of well produced documentaries about them on youtube

As much of a POS as Mark is, its amazing how complicit the cops and the DA were in trying to cover up what is essentially criminal assault. Gotta love our justice system

@dracorex426

No, what's amazing is how easily they gave up.

@WobblesandBean

Welcome to the justice system. Cops and judges don't care about victims, especially if the assaulter is a cop.

@@dracorex426 The police typically roll over and settle the second they realize you actually have the resources to take them to court.
They bank on people being too poor, tired, or busy to hold them accountable, and settle the rest.
